YAY ME!!! 200lbs

Finally, after pushing through a little plateau in fat loss, I am down to 200 lbs... Damn, it has been a long road to come down from 204lbs (I posted my results for 204 lbs back in friggin April!!! http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?t=391043 ).

Since then, I plateaued, went on a bulking experiment, gained a ton of weight, I then had to drop again... to get to the point where I started (albeit a bit leaner) and then continue to drop weight.

Seems the plateau is over, this week has been an exceptionally good one (so far 2.6 lbs gone).

So, this pretty much an important phsycological milestone for me, since I have not weighed 200lbs or less, probably in 10 years.

My next big milestone is hitting 20% BF, which will put me in the "final streak" to shed the last 10% (which I KNOW will be the hardest of all, but who's quitting). I should be hitting that 20% by the end of June.

If you have read my posts before, you know my Primary goal for this cutting thing is to be single digit bf%. I originally thought I could do it still this year, and I will try as hard as I can . However, looking at the trend in my graph, I can tell it might not be possible in one go. A more appropiate approach might be to continue to slim down all the way to 175lbs and at that point do a VERY clean bulk (because at 6 feet tall, I would be a skinny mofo @ 175lbs). If everything goes well (which never does), I should reach 175lbs @ 14% in September (at least that is my aim)

Opinions on that last paragraph???

Anyway, a little recap on the results so far:

My initial stats, as of 13.09.04 were:

264 lbs
40% Body Fat :heks: x 1000

158,4 lbs LBM
105,6 lbs FAT

After 8.5 months I am at:

199.98 lbs
22.5% BF

155 lbs LBM
45 lbs FAT (SHIT!!!!)

So results after 8.5 months of straight cutting (with a little 2 weeks bulk pause) are

64 lbs lighter (94,66% of that weight lost is fat)

I will post a monthly progress report (with graphs and updated pics) in 10 days... I just felt so good this morning I could not wait 10 days to post this!!!

Cheers

Great work. Are you sure at 6 foot 175 you wouldn't already be close single BF%? I'm not sure a bulk cycle when you are so close to the BF% you are looking for is the right thing. Wait till you get to that point before deciding. IMHO. Good job in any case.

By cycle I mean just eating more (first at TDEE level and then TDEE + 20%). I didn't mean gear... shit, you cannot use the word "cycle" lightly around here... :-)

The thing is, I remember when I was 175 (back in 91 or so) and I was very skinny... the reason I believe I wont be there by that time is because of the amount of fat I'm holding and how long is taking me to get rid of it... however, If I do get to 175 with some 151 lbs LBM I agree I will be in a good position and the temptation to continue will be big...but you have to remember my ultimate goal (being single digit is only my first goal): I want to be 220 at single digit... so that is a lot of muscle needed for that

I didn't mean/say gear, I know thats not your thing.

Now that you added the, "I want to be 220 at single digit" part. Yes, I agree, you will need to eat more at some point.

Fantastic job man!!!!
Fat loss plateaus are hard to deal with, when I hit one it seem like nothing will shake me out of it. Just patience and persistance.
Again, great job. You know everyone is rooting for you!

6' at 175 is going to be little bitty. That has to be a LOT of muscle gone to get that low. But hey, you know a hell of a lot better than I do. You can do what ever you put to mind to. Remember [Captain Planet Voice] "The Power is YOOOOUUURRRRRSSSSS!!!!!" [/Captain Planet Voice]
