Wrinkles

Hydration and Lancome help me stay young and beautiful!

Lancome helps me too! moisturizers depend on the type of skin, I use primordial and d-contraxol. I also include in my diet good fats and take lots of water.

I'm a little skeptical about the frownies! hahaha. I guess anything is possible. I am only 22 and I am getting lines on my forehead (vertical at my brow). I just noticed it this week and it is scaring the hell out of me. :(

It does sound unlikely doesnt it? But it really does work. Those vertical lines are exactly what they're made for.

Avon just came out with a cream that seems to help in those spots. I just use it the areas that need it. It is something like wrinkle corrector cream and is about 32.00

Well, it must be my lucky day! I have an Avon lady 2 cubes down from me! hahaha. She is 50-something and is probably going to ask why the hell I need a wrinkle cream!!!

I don't have wrinkles...I have "expression" lines!

I am quite animated with my face--go figure--and have started to noticed the appearance of lines on my forehead. It's from the "surprised" look I like to give people. I have oily skin as well, which actually helps as far as wrinkles go. I am a big believer in a skin care regimine, sunblock and drinking water.

I read a very interesting article that talked about your skin and salmon. I'll have to dig it up, but basically it said if you want great skin, salmon should definitely be on the menu! There was a whole meal plan for your skin...now I really better dig up that article!

RE: salmon

Dr NV Perricone, who's written several books on skin care and anti-aging, is a big advocate of salmon because it's loaded with omega 3 essential fatty acids. Omega 3's have anti-imflammatory properties, which is why it's good for so many ailments. Dr Perricone believes the biggest factor in aging, be it the skin or the body, is inflammation.

A lot of what he says in his books are the same things we recommend here - eat several small meals a day, always include a protein source in each meal, avoid high glycemic carbs, eat enough "healthy fats", drink a lot of water, take vitamins and anti-oxidants, and (surprise!) weight train.

But then there's the mercury in our seafood.

And the farm raised salmon which doesnt have the mercury problem also doesnt have nearly the concentration of Omega 3s.

Fresh salmon is farm raised and canned salmon is almost always from the sea. I eat a little of both.

There is a product by Dr. Murad called "Wet Suit". Its full of things which will all nourish the skin from inside out. Also, if you don't want to try something so harsh as pure Retin-A or Retin-A micro... You can always go w/ night time lotion which has some alpha hydroy acids. Some are more gentle then others. Someone suggested Clinique Turn Around cream which is good. Estee Lauder makes one called Visible Difference which is good. Only wear lotions for the face w/ apha or beta hydroxy acids at night & NOT during the day or they can irrtate your skin or be too drying. Those lotions are better off used at night. If you have deep lines or alot of surface skin damage then I would go w/ the Retin-A for a few weeks, which will cause quick cell turnover & a lot of peeling. The results will be good though. Frownies are a waste of money & actually end up pulling at your skin. As for botox, you are better off getting small collagen (fat) enjections instead of the botox. The fat will plump your surface skin up again. You don't want to use something which will freeze the nerve & make your skin stiff. Not good for long term use. HTH.

I was told last night by my Mom that Sophia Loren has used sesame oil for years! Mom bought some meaning to try it and use it and then couldn't remember what she did with the bottle. Aaahh, old age. Ain't it grand?

Turnaround Cream is great for lightening up freckles. Just as a warning though, the first couple weeks you use it you will break out.
