WPO at GNC show of strength

DOM

New member
Went down to new orleans for the wpo meet this weekend.

SIX one thousand lb or greater squats -- Oan Bossan very impressive. Got 1015 I think, at 275 and he's only 26.

Jesse Kellum had a great meet. Got a new bench record up in the 670s I think.

Bench bash for cash was sweet too. August Clark got a 475 I think. Schick got his opener but failed a 570 record attempt.

Brandenburg got a 742 or something, but couldn't lock out anything heavier. Mendelson smoked 782 three times! Bad lift on the first two because he lifted his butt, however -- he just destroyed it, looked like a speed rep. Then took a 4th attempt at 804 but couldn't lock it out -- probably would have gotten it had he made his opener first attempt. Zemmin also put on a good show with a world record -- forget the exact weight.

They also had strongman competition going the whole time. As well as the bodybuilding show -- definitely a good show to go to next year.

Also all the people from Westside that went ended up sick and Chuck V almost puked while deadlifting.lol He was way stonger than he has ever been, good bench pr but his total was off.

A couple of notes. I don't think that Ron Palmer's 855kg total is a world record. Second, August Clark Jr. went on to do a 215 kg BP at the Bench Bash only 2 days after competing in the full meet!!! So his 215 kg is the new all time WR in the 132's. Also, Mendelson's 355 kg BP is being counted as the all time WR for an official bench press. And, basically, you should all go to the arnold in february to watch him get 800, because he's said he's going to open with 365 kg -- and barring some injury, he should get it.
