So you're saying that in a couple BILLION years we will not find a way to travel via space and inhabit other planets!?! you are talking about BILLIONS of years, just think how far we have come in 20 years, much less to think what we will accomplish in the next million years.

Humans are gravity based organisms. Look at the system problems the astronauts have after just a few months in space. Bone loss, muscle atrophy, etc. The moon is one thing. Getting outside of our solar system is another.
But the rocket scientists will tell you another story. They sell dreams. It's purpose is funding. Even if it were possible, why should I care. I won't be around.

Take this to a religous discussion boardokiman said:This is not my interpretation of the bible ,but the bibles interpretation of it's self. To understand Gods word a person can't let themselves be guided by false religious traditions or ideas .If your church teaches you that there is an immortal soul, you will bring such a philosophy into the bible when you read it,this would then taint your understanding of it.
If a person really want's to know the 'Truth ..that will set them free', they have to do away with all their previous misconception and allow the bible to speak for itself.
The only people truly qualified to teach the bible ,are those who live by it !Obviously , the mainline religions of this world are not in a position to do so as they regularly disregard and water down it's teachings. Many of them say as you say ,that we shouldn't take the bible literally, and this is where they fall flat !
'What does Gods word say?' not 'What do I,or my priest/pastor think ?' is the important question.
Some may say taking such verses as Genesis chapter 1 where it talks about the creation in 7 days. But if you look at Chp 2:4, you see that all the days are referred to as 1 day. Obviously the bible isn't referring to 24 hrs in this case ,but simply to a period of time
which could be any length. It is not unusual for a person to refer to his 'grandfathers day' meaning that persons entire lifetime. So ,too, the bible often uses the term 'day'to describe an extended period of time.(2 Peter 3:8)Thus the days of Genesis chapter 1 could reasonably be thousands of years in length.
This is what is meant by letting the bible interpret itself !

Sure there were a few bad times and loved ones have died but I always get over it and get back to having fun. I've got a lot of respect for life and, "live for ever" if I could, f**ken oath I would.

Yasmina said:Yes, I would like to live forever(long time), if and only if, I had the ability to control the pain of losing a loved one. I am taking into consideration the fact that my body would be able to sustain the length of living time and that most humans would be able to live forever too, not just I.....
...in which case I would only attach myself to people who lived forever(for a long time) and procreate only with those if the pain of love may not be controlled...

And sure i felt sad and guilty for a few months that i get to live while they miss out, but i always get over em. and get back to enjoin my life.
It's not really that bad loosin loved ones, they always stay in my memories. I sometimes even picture them being around at times and thinking what they would say and stuff.
But it's all cool, i still live life to the max.

I think life could get extremely boring, and eventually the rest of the human race would disappear, but as long as you have some form of perception I think it would be worth it. It is hard to imagine, my mind might change if I were in that position, but I think I would always choose life over death.
