Would like you ladies opinion on HGH

What are your thoughts on women taking it. My wife is 38 yrs. old and has considered it once or twice. I figured it would be safer for her than using AAS but wasn't sure. I guess her stats would help. 5'-8", 145 lbs., approx. 15-18% BF(guessing), been weight training for at least 10 yrs., teaches Pilates twice a wk. as well as a step aerobics class, and does cardio 3-5 tmes/wk. Also, I know Gh isn't a cure all but she has constant pain in her joints(mostly ankles). She has been diagnosed w/ lime's disease from a tick bite last summer. Something you never get rid of. I was thinking it would maybe help though not sure. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. A few pics also.

I guess the question is what is the goal? GH, as you noted, is not AAS so its really not like 'I don't want to take AAS so therefore I will take GH." Its a growth hormone and considered an anti-aging therapy, albeit an expensive one. I have yet to hear of any down side to GH use in moderation - but just as with any of the non-OTC stuff - you are your very own personal petrie dish. Generally 1-2 iu ED or EOD is the protocol. Don't expect to "gain" on it if you aren't running AAS with it. I've heard stories about "OMG the fat just drops off" but can't say I've ever actually seen it - I would personally assume there's diet or other chemicals involved if there's actually "fat dropping off". Its a slow-acting process - expect a 6 month cycle to "get results". "Results" being better sense of well-being, improved skin, etc -all the "youthful stuff".

The big caveat w/ GH is to be sure that there are no pre-existing tumors or anythign like that because it promotes growth of everything, including cancer. That is probably the biggest concern.

Other stuff - can cause bloat or joint pain (a la carpel tunnel) depending on dose and how sensitive you are to it. There's some discussion about thyroid suppression -- Anthony Roberts has a great article regarding use of t3 or t4 with it somewhere. Diet-wise, I've read some stuff about carbs but off the top of my head I can't think of the details.

I am not sure its going to do anything for her joint pain tho -- its not like a general cure-all. For joint pain you might look into Adequan - I have no idea about counterindications as far as her particular ailment tho. Also for just joint pain in general I use MSM & sometimes w/ glucosamine / chondroitin - although I recently read a study that said there was no noticeable difference using glucosamine or not. MSM was not part of the study but I've used it religiously since I discovered it about 5 yrs and it's made a difference in my tendonitis.

I guess for the cost of gh and the duration of using it, I'd be sure to look at what you are expecting out of it or what you are really trying to achieve first.

Thanks Sassy. Yea goals are as typical as they come. Lose some fat, gain a little musce. She hopes of one day competing(figure). She pretty much trains as if she were going to compete. But as w/ me, we both need some adjustments to our diet if we really want to be serious about competing. We own a gym together and want to lead by example for our members. Both of us would like to try and compete at least once in our life before it's too late. Again, thanks for the advice, really appreciate it.

Honestly I'd say look at your diet first. That's an easy, cheap thing to change and I'd do it before getting sidetracked looking at chemicals. If the training stuff is already in place, then the diet is where you get the biggest bang for your buck. I really hate to see all these posts about girls looking to chemicals for change when they have never once done a real bulking diet or lifted like a mutherfucker to build a base of real muscle vs just dropping some weight and never thinking twice about increasing muscle to drop the bodyfat ratio.

My opinion anyway - that's really all your wife needs to deal w/ right now to get some changes. If competition is the goal, then start dieting like that's what you want to do. Esp women will look at competition prep as a 12-16 week cutting cycle and then get told they didn't drop enough bodyfat or need to bring up just about everythign on their bodies because they never had any muscle building prior to the 16 weeks. Think in terms of say, exploring competition next year - that leaves 12 months to build a solid base, find out what parts of your body respond to a targeted diet & training, and what needs to be tweaked. THen when the cutting part comes, its truly just cutting and not trying to shove in as much muscle building and cutting at the same time as you can do in 12 weeks - that's when everyone seems to think that its time for AAS because they didn't bring enough muscle to the table in the first place.
