Work and Diet...

So I work 9 hours in a factory, and just started lifting - mainly to lose weight. I'm only 18 years old, and close to 350lbs. Extremely unhealthy, although I don't feel it.

However, what would you guys suggest for me to take to lunch every day? I know protein is the main thing, but what else?

Thanks guys - loving this site!

It depends on how carb sensitive you are - a lot of people on this site are overly carb phobic, however, at 350lbs, your insulin sensitivity is probably poor and you may be carb sensitive.

If carb sensitive:
Salad veggies + either chicken breast, tuna, or salmon or other high quality meat. You may want to add healthy fats if choosing chicken breast or tuna (e.g., flaxseeds)

Not carb sensitive:
(Better) Sweet potatoes/yams + salad veggies + either chicken breast, tuna, or salmon or other high quality meat (this is my lunch); or
(OK) whole grain bread + + salad veggies + either chicken breast, tuna, or salmon or other high quality meat

At 350 lbs, if he's not 7'6" he's carb sensitive.

Make sure you get a good breafast, lots of eggs. Make sure you take snacks that are planned so you're not tempted to run to the vending machine.

Read John Berardi. There's probably a sticky somewhere.

Read Alwyn Cosgrove of how to lose fat through exercise. There's probably a sticky somewhere.
