Woot! New Deadlift PR +Videos :)

405lb raw deadlift!!

heehe I did it twice! The first Time I let the bar down a bit too fast, cause I thought the bar was gonna slip out of my hands, so I did it again just to make sure I wasn't dreaming or under a palcebo effect

I got it on tape! All RAW! No straps, gloves, belt or chalk!

I warmed up with some powercleans
when I did the 315 it went up so easy with crappy Romanian deadlift form that knew 405 was a piece of cake

I actually ended up doing it powerlifter style, guess the body knows the easiest way to get a load up
Well it look more like a Romanain deadlift!!!My butt went up too fast! check out my form and tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I put all my attempts on a single video file (right click and save as if you want to save it on your harddrive)

One thing I gotta work on my grip, its was slipping a bit.

Funny thing is I only deadlifted twice in the last month and a bit since my 315 PR. and then they were only 2 sets of Snatch deadlifts on a podium with 190
Goes to show train fast and epxlosive with light weights ie Olympic lifts and Romanian deadlifts and your deadlift with go up.
Oh I guess full back squats and front squats help too :)

I weigh 194lbs , so that makes it double BW :D

And here is a vid of my Powercleaning during my warmup - anyone want to critque my form? I guess maybe my butt comes up to quickly

Congrats on the PR!!! Heck of a job man!!! Keep that head up/back and lean back too...

thanks, yeah I noticed I do round my mid back at bit, not my lower back though. Its an old habit of mine.


I'll shoot for 455 next month and try to get my form correct :)
This is about the 4th time I've actually done a deadlift since I started training.

I wish I could get my squat up to my deadlift! No where near!

That's a lot of weight man. I can't criticize because it's way more than I can do, but work on your deadlift form. You're totally straight legging those things. Awesome job though considering the amount of weight.

yeah my butt came up way too fast! Which is funny becuase I've been doing so may clean pulls, you would think my form would be more like that... but instead it looked more like a Romanian Deadlift :rolleyes:

One thing though - I have been doing clean pulls with 205 up to my chest, so I knew a slower deadlift with double that weight oculd be done - 205=50% of 405 just about, ie speed set :)

BTW I updated the original post with stills from the original video.
