Women's attitude about men losing their hair

cdcook said:
My wife works in a hair salon with about 15 or so other women. As we all know hairstylists are fashion conscious and very flashy dressers.I asked most of them what they thought about men losing their hair and got some interesting answers.
All of them said hair is not an issue with them at all, self confidence is.If a man is losing his hair and doesn't seem to be having a problem with it,it doesn't matter to them. If, however, he tries to cover it up with a combover, wig, hairpiece, or anything else it shows that he's not secure or comfortable with who he is and they wouldn't be interested in that person.
A few of them (very nice looking btw)thought it was soooo cool. They admitted to being daddy's little girl when they were growing up and he had started losing his hair early on.They thought of it as a sign of maturity.
They all said some guys look awesome with tanned, shaved heads and some do not.Thay all agreed that short hair looks better on people who are losing theirs. Not one of them had anything negative to say about men losing their hair.
My point is,if you start losing your hair during a cycle don't worry about it, most women don't seem to.Cut it short or shave your head and forget about it.

You went about this all wrong. YOU asked them. A guy. If baldness was a turnoff for them, do you think they would tell you? Probably not. You should have asked your wife to ask - I bet the responses would be a little different. I mean, chicks are a lot more superficial than they pretend not to be - ever overhear a conversation b/w two chicks who thought no one was listening?

I think it mostly comes down to how you look overall. I mean Brad Pitt and David Beckham have both had shaved heads (maybe not completely bald but close enough), and women didn't get turned off by it, in fact most women preferred it - it's the whole "rough look" like having a bit of stubble.

I think if you're good looking to start with, you've got nothing to worry about. I also agree that younger girls are far more superficial, but you're hardly gonna meet your life partner hanging outside a highschool.

I'm prone to MPB and had some minor shedding on my first cycle. Thankfully my hair grew back when I came off cycle.

At the moment I'd like to keep my hair, but if one day I lose it then fair enough, I don't think it'd make me any less attractive to women (besides i'm kinda settled down with my gf now anyway).

shallow?--same as some guys wont date an ugly chick-some girls just think its ugly

Exactly. And yeah, I guess putting that much weight on physical appearance is the definition of shallow, but I don't want to date an ugly chick...

I think the shallowness comes with age. I have no statistics.... but I definetely see women between the ages of 18-28 not being attracted to balding men. I think older and more sophisticated women would not care.

Definitely. But then again, those women are generally going to be after guys close to their own age. It's a lot more "acceptable" to lose your hair when you're older, so there's confounding variables here.

Bingo. So very true.

There is a difference between shaving your head and being bald. A BIG difference.

And I don't know about the stubble either. I think most women would rather kiss a guy with a smooth face.

But surely you see my point. If brad pitt was completely bald, he'd still look damn good with it. I don't think women would discount a guy purely on the basis that they're bald. Most girls fancy the hell out of Vin Diesel and 50 Cent.

I think part of the problem is that when you think of a bald guy, you quite often get the image of the middle aged fat businessman. I'm sure if you got any women's truthful opinion they'd probably say it depends on the guy - it's the whole package that counts.

Certainly true. But women do love running their hands through a nice thick head of hair.

Of course there are going to be some women who just are not attracted to guys with bald heads. Now, obviously you have to have at least a sort of attractive, but I think as long as your confident and know how to carry urself women don't care.
Take me for example. I actually get hit on more now that I shave my head then before I started going bald. Granted the extra 50lbs of muscle that I've put on in the past few years hasn't hurt, but u get what I'm saying.
