I am no feminist and do not believe women belong in ground combat. But aunt flo isn't an open wound and is really damn easy to manage. That might be the silliest argument against women in combat when there are plenty of viable reasons.

I wrote a paper for my argumentation and debate class about the issue back in the 1990's. The physical issues are objective standards, the PT test and being able to do the job.

When it comes to the social crap...I never treated women differently from the men. I expected the females to perform in PLDC to the same standard as the males; I would fall back to encourage the males and the females regardless when I was on the ROTC Ranger Challenge Team. At the end of the day, men are just physically capable of shit I would never wish on any woman.

Women won't be on patrol in the desert. This simply allows more combat-oriented positions for females. I highly doubt any female wants to go out on patrol in 100 degree weather for 2 weeks living off the land. Even the secretary stated that many roles will be decided whether a woman can handle it or not - it's not a carte blanche rule.

Many women lose their periods during basic training. For anyone who knows anything about women, low bodyfat AND stress affect a menstrual cycle, both coming from basic training, not to mention being in combat, or out there at all.

Stressing out about a fucking college exam puts mine off for a few weeks. Being in combat? Ha. Bye Aunt Flo.

I'm no feminist either, I'm not so sure I believe women need to be in the heart of the battle like the men are, it's a little unnatural...but bullshit comments definitely strike a nerve with me.
