Hope that helps
Oh and it makes me feel like a wimp after reading how much the men do - grrrrrr

inclined dumbell press: 3 sets of 50lbs each dumbell for 10 reps

5'8" 145-150lbs -- (closer to 150 today...that time of the month!) -- I have very long arms and legs (dammit, can't seem to hit my chest unless its dumbbells), and have been training seriously since November 2000. My longer lines help "hide" my figure flaws...exercises like dead lifts and most barbell moves seem to add girth...while the dumbbells, although limiting strength gains so far, I think help shape my longer muscles.

Anybody want to add encouraging words about barbells vs. dumbbells?

CURRENT
35lb dumbbell curls (2x8)
50lb flat dumbbell press (3x8)
225lb smith squat (2x10)
275lb hack squat (2x10)
45lb dumbbell shoulder press (3x8)
50lb bent over dumbell row (3x10)

GOALs, using periodized training (possibly not realistic, but I'll shoot for the stars): by end of summer, August 30, 2001:

40 lb dumbbell curls
60lb flat dumbbell press
255lb smith squat
345lb hack squat
50lb dumbbell shoulder press
55lb bent over dumbbell row

strongchick(gearless, but considering it if I don't cut up soon!)

P.S. I am so afraid deadlifts will thicken my lower body...comments?

I've always been afraid of deadlift too Strongchick! I started doing plain deadlift only a month ago. I can't say yet if my lower back is thicker...

Just viewed your pics, and your back (whole body, in fact) are doing just fine! You look great! Keep lifting heavy!

A program that really picked up both strength and mass for me is one made popular by Charles Poliquin, clled erman Volume Training. It is an ass-kicker.You can find it on testosterone.net...just search german volume training.

My stats(bear in mind that this old lady competes in strongman competitions,5'6'',170lb))
Squat-270 for reps
dead-270 for reps
bench-215 for reps
I don't usually do 1 reps-I pyramid down to sets of 3,then back up.
Also...I am a big advocate of dumbell curls, although I need to get better with barbell curls,as I will be competing in power sports next year, and it's one of the events(135 for reps)
I love it when women lift heavy. These Texas bi*ches think it's "gross"
