Woke up to a puking kid in my bathroom....what is the best

Just lie her down and maby try some warm stirred coke or ginger ale, along with some dry toast. Also a nice face towel wet with cold water on the forehead helps sometimes.

Hey thanks....dry toast is a good one ...What a way to wake up.....Im sure waking up like she did is no fun either lol

Kids these days are drinking so early.

Her and her friends probably got into your liquor cabinet

What a cutie! I sure hope you mean you want to feed her not feel her! lol

Ok really hun, give her either ginger ale or some type of soda. Stick with a light colored one! Sprite, etc.
I generally give my kids either toast or some saltine crackers. only a few at a time. make sure that she is propped up in the bed or on the couch so that after she eats and drinks it will go down. Also if she continues to vomit let her suck on ice chunks so that she does not dehydrate. Maybe a cold face cloth over the forehead too.
* But do not give her any peptobismol or any of the likes. If she has a virus and is vomitting you dont want to "block" it by giving her meds. In the end she will end up with diahrea instead. Let it run its course..
If she begins holding down the crackers and the soda begin with a light diet. Broth in a mug and few bites of rice etc. After a few hours of vomitting the last thing the body needs is shock of a huge greasy meal!
I am sure you know all of this tho, being a mom of 3.

oh. . .and. . .if the kid can't keep ANYTHING down right now. . .start with plain old water. . .one tablespoon full at a time. . .15 minutes or so apart. . .good luck :)

Omg all over the bed LOL....can you say laundry laundry and more laundry
Dayum...Give that poor baby a bucket or some thing!

I take it she wont be eating any time soon!

Hopefully she will be able to sleep a little of it off in between vomitting.
And yes do try the whole spoonful of water thingy. Now if she is ralphing up a lot then I would do about every 10 minutes. Make sure she does not deydrate. Also like I said let her suck on some ice!

damn my boys only 18 mths but I'm dreading the day he gets a stomach virus
I'm guessing it'll probably be messy :worried:

That happens when you are holding them trying to calm them down becasue they don't feel good....and they barf all down your back.....YUCK

She is only 9 damn it lol does this angel look like trouble.....
Agreed. Chicken broth, crackers. Don't let her sleep on her back. If she starts throwing up while supine(flat on her back) she is more likely to aspirate. That will = lung infection. That won't be fun. Good luck!

thing to feel them?? I can't remeber...she keeps saying she is hungry but can't keep anything down :worried: Happy day
Call your family doctor. It may be a stomach virus. Give her clear liquids. Keep her hydrated.... : I have a 14 year old boy and a 13 year old stepson. :)

I have always given my crackers, toaste and lots of sprite.
Hope she gets well soon for the holidays. I hate when my child is sick, makes you feel so helpless.

Coke syrup. You need to get it from a "old fashioned" pharmacy usually, from the pharmacist. Keep it on hand when you have kids, seriously. Seems like they're always puking.

You pour a small amount (barely a 1/4 cup) over a glass of ice, add equal parts of plain water, have them SIP (like one drink every five minutes). If that won't settle the stomach NOTHING will.

In a pinch you pour a cup of cola and alternate it between cups until it's flat.

Don't feed her until she's gone a minimum of 4 hour puke free, if you can get sugar water of some sort to stay down her she'll be fine for a long time without food.

If you have an organic grocery store there are natural ginger beverages actually made with REAL ginger, that's really good too but ginger has a funky taste that might make her hurl before she gets it down.

I realize NONE of this does any good now, but for future reference.
