Will the rap/hip hop culture ever die?

True but Arnold always kills the "bad guys" hell bent on terror and evil while Fiddy Cent kills a bro for the way he walks or for disrespecting him.

it's more than just rap music bro
rap gets most of the heat...but violence in hollywood i think is worse
arnie blows up hundreds of people, the kids cheer and he gets elected governor
50 cent murders people on cd and gets slammed by the same people that cheered arnie in t2
double standard

this new era of rap is plain retarded, I don't consider most of it actual music.

Rap has caught a bad rep, mostly from those who started the anti-cop/pro-violence stuff. NWA was one of the top ones along with Ice-T. They talked about what they knew and grew up around. The content was such a controversy, that it became widely known. Before that, I don't think rap had as much prominence in the country as a whole.

This new stuff is just garbage and there is no real meaning to their music, just dollar signs. There are still a few decent artists that can actually tell their story and have a message - but they are few and far between.

Everything dies out sooner or later. I agree with a lot of what people said in this thread regarding the garbage commercial rap, but there are a lot of intelligent rappers like Talib Kwali, Immortal Technique, or Mos Def. There's also many rappers who are lyrically inept and who I could spit better than. Rap sounds way better when the emcee has a vocabulary of more than 30 words.

The rap industry is catering all of its sales to young white men and women. They make up the largest percentage group buying rap music today. That is one of the main reasons rap has no substance anymore. The black community supports the artist by celebrating/ acknowledging their success, the white community is glamourizing/promoting their success.

Rap has become a little too comercial, but it will stay and it will stay for a long time. Too many rappers out there. True no one can EVER replace TUPAC and BIGGIE (RESPECT for both) but the rap industry is ever growing and the rapper are making enough money to wipe their ass with 100 dollar bills 3 times a day

fuck no it wont go away, unfortunately. What cracks me up is when one of the young brotha'z gets gunned down, then at the fucking MTV faggot music awards, some 400 lb guerrilla gets up on stage preaching "we need to stop the violence yall" when the same motherfuckers are actually the ones promoting it in to begin with!!! WTF, they have all these shows about murders and rappers trying to make some big deal about it or some inside type shit we'll never know about. Here is a short version of one of those shows in lament terms. Q: so what was the beef all about between Tupac and Biggie?" Answer; 2 stupid asses who shot off their mouths, hadnt the balls to throw a punch themselves, and had somebody else kill the other one for them because they were nothing but paper gangster pussies w/ a mic. So no, unfortunately it doesn't go away, nor do the baggy clothes.
