Why!!!

They hurt even wn I warm up.
I neglected them for a long time.
Should I cut back on chest & focus more on them till they catch up?

Try sticking to dumbells for a while. Use a hammer grip instead of a regular to not put as much tension on your shoulders.

When you bench correctly every muscle in your body is working in unison, so the shoulders being taxed makes sense. What doesnt make sense is doing chest today and a seperate shoulder session tommorow. This will undercut recovery a limit growth. If your delts arent being utilized on bench, then your doing it wrong. If your shoulders are taking too much of a beating, than your technique probably sucks. Post a video of you benching so we can critique technique.

I'm under the assumption he benches with arms at 90. The day I stopped doing that my shoulder pain went away and added 15 pounds to my bench when I engaged my whole body

I see alot of people benching with elbows flared instead of tucking them. The elbows out causes a greater rotation of the shoulders, and this puts tremendous stress on the rc, which often leads to injury.
