i can get one when im home plank. not very hard to make that much. journeyman sheetmetal worker rate is 40.85, 8 hours regular time plus 4 hours ot everyday. 44 something anytime i fill in for my foreman, plus any overtime shifts. we dont get the option to work an ot day. u work an entire 7 day shift. which when shutdown time comes everyone averages about 3-4 ot shifts. fuck gladiator could come up here and make 30 bux an hour as my helper. y do u think ppl come from all over the world to work in the oil sands. lots of money, no education needed

i work for maintenance>> i do sit around all day waiting for a radio call to do something. used to watch youtube all day, like the pooter or go on thatsphucked.com thats a good sight. but our project manager disabled the internet lol. but i have a contract for 12 hours a day, 7 on 7 off till dec 6th of this year. so no matter how little there is to do i will still be here. if u work construction side of a plant then your always on the go, when there is no work left your gone

got into a big argument with people about this, the question was basically why have blue collar workers achieved a monopoly on the words " hard working "... basically why is our culture telling us only blue collar workers can be working hard, i personally do not get it..

i don't think that's really the case anymore. It's pretty much evolved to long hours + sacrifice = hard work.I think before it was "hard work" because of the physical taxation on your body. Jobs now require a higher stress thresh hold and mental capacity than 50 years ago.
