Why use both long and short esters?

I have seen some people using both esters. Why do they do that?

it could be access or it could be they believe the bro science that changing esters keeps things clicking or some crap.

why do some people prefer suv's and others prefer cars? why do some people have long hair and some people have short hair? its their preference right? its not as though one is more beneficial than the other but perhaps more conducive... some people like shorter cycles, some people dont like to pin as often etc...
