Why does Kobe Bryant

ABS2003

New member
Why does Kobe Bryant have those chains on the end of the bar when he's doing squats, in the sprite commercial? Anyone?

ACCOMADATING RESISTANCE. oops..
make the top half of the squat harder.
you should try it, you'll love it. you can use bands also

accomodating resistance. The chains rest on the ground at the bottom of the squat and at the top there weight is hung from the bar. Its used to increase speed or work the lockout harder.

this whole topics actually been discussed before but westside isn't the only program the uses bands and chains.

No...but I think it is cool that now that Kobe made this commercial more people are going to be learning about this type of training. It will become a bit more mainstream...which is great for the future athletes.

Of course I kinda liked the fact that it was a "secret"...gotta progress though.

leave some chain hanging on the floor some when locked out too...keeps it in one place.

Like she said...make sure there are 2-3 links on the floor when you lockout. It makes it alot more stable.
