Why are steroids illegal

Massive debate but why are they illegal...when bodybuilding in the ifbb use of enhancements are so highly used ... Don't get me wrong I've ran heaps of cycles and won't ever look back... But I have always wondered why is one of the biggest sports in the world bodybuilding ... Obviously involves steroids etc etc yet it's still illegal ... Surely some big name bodybuilders even small time bodybuilders have been caught with substances... Even for personal use

I think it's all down to money.. the money in MLB and NFL would have everyone juicing their eyes if there wasn't the risk of them getting caught.

The lack of control over steroids in bodybuilding will never make it anything more than a freak show. It'll never be accepted as a sport.

Just my opinion

For the general public your right. But in sports it would turn into an arms race where the rich get the better drugs and doctors. In sports today a large percentage of athletes are using but at least they have to come off for their tests meaning they compete clean.

Politicians want to pretend they care about the health of the general public, but honestly there are not enough users to take in significant revenue.

Big pharmaceuticals catch a break by calling steroid use "low T" and make a good profit Government does well by keeping a kick back from big phama.

If there were as many juicers as smokers it would be all good. Go figure.

Go libertarian party every time and don't accept this hypocritical game.

many steroids aren't illegal in the US if you have a Rx for them. no different than Viagra or Cialis.

and its not like its hard to get either so why even bitch about it? if they were legalized then the pharma companies would take over and jack up the prices.. its actually better the way it is now. as long as you aren't selling them or doing something stupid like driving around with them and getting pulled over you have virtually zero chance of ever having to worry about it.

as for your question well they are illegal because congress made them illegal because Olympic athletes were abusing them. the DEA and feds didn't want them to be banned at all. they have enough on their plate than go after gym rats

One thing I've noticed is a HUGE increase of popularity in TRT. It's crazy at the amount of people going on and getting approved for it these days. There used to just be the clinics in FL and CA but now it's more mainstream.

The pharmacies and manufacturers have a huge back orders on it. As my pharmacist expresses - "it's liquid gold" and can never get enough to keep on the shelves.

With the increase of getting put on TRT, it's pretty much just as good, if not a better option as being legal. At least you can be monitored by a doctor while doing so. And if you find a decent doctor, your dose can be a very effective amount. Where they won't just keep you "above normal" levels.
