Why are silencers illegal?

Why the restrictions on this item? It should be like a clip or any other accessory in my opinion. easy access.

I want one, gonna check into it locally.

I just like James Bond type of shit. I like laser scopes and I want to see about a silencer if it is legal where I am.

You're in Texas so all you need is some paperworks, signature from your local Sherrif and you're good to go with the BATF.

They're illegal in many countries cause liberals are affraid of citizens walking with a can on their pistol and killing folks without being noticed. Which is BS...

not to mention, you will have to pay a $200 tax stamp on that silencer when you buy it. you also might have to pay that $200 tax every year you own it, or so i've been told.

I know that they are class 3. I ment illegal like roids are illegal. You can, with the paperwork and yata yata....
Anyways, I need to learn how to make one or several.
I've shot silenced weapons in Vegas, but never outdoors.
