Why am I so goddamn tired?

Toga-

I didn't mean to imply that people who get litle sleep are dumb. I was just trying to reassure Burning_Inside that maybe he's just in a class of people who need extra sleep, and not to feel down about it. I know plenty of people who get by on little or no sleep and I am perpetually astounded by them. And you're ripped too. I could never do that. Rock on Toga.

Let's see, tired, lathargic, not wanting to train, sore. Sounds like overtraining to me. Are you working out every day? If taking an ECA it will require more rest and at least 25% more water than normal. Maybe workout three days a week if not now doing so. Drink at least 1.25 gallons of water per day, make sure you are getting enough potassium (a lot of mineral supplements do not have enough potassium), take a week off of training every three months or so. Just some ideas.

Funny thing

Two years ago I though I was overtraining, not getting enough sleep....I was always tired, then I found out I had mono.....You talk about feeling like shit!!!

No wonder I like to sleep 12 hours whenever I can!

I agree with Love Bone - sounds like overtraining.

Burning, it would be good to know your training split, how long you're in the
gym etc. Also, when did you last take time off training (at least a week).

A concept that's hard to accept in this game is sometimes 'less is more'.
Less time in the gym can mean more progress.

I recommend taking 5-7 days off (totally) from training every 6-7 weeks.
I train 1 on, 1 off, dam hard for 6 weeks, then take 6 days off.
I've had better results and don't feel run down, like I did when I trained
5 times a week and never took a week off.

Last thought, the four pillars of recovery are:
1. nutrition (high protein, sufficient calories)
2. sleep (varies by individual, but if you wake up to an alarm every day, you're
not getting enought sleep)
3. hydration (2 gallons/day)
4. supplementation (legal, consistent -to supplement your nutrition program)

For best training results all 4 must be optimized.

Yeah Canadian Cobra is right.I have changed my workout routine doing less with better overall feeling.Try to do less...thats all about

Hey bro
I think everyone that has replied to you has a valid point. You said though that you had this problem before you started training so although it sounds just like over-training it may not ne. You might just be one of those unlucky people that need 10 or so hours sleep a night. If thats the case, you might just have to live with it. It may be the quality of sleep. Do you feel like you are dreaming all night? You only dream in rem sleep - which should be only 10-30 mins when you first go to sleep and just before you wake up. You may need to relax more. Let your mind relax. Do you have busy dreams? I have a sleeping disorder as well, and if I think too much before I sleep, I get a restless sleep.

are you eating enough carbs throughout the day to get you by? screw not eating carbs if you are feeling tired. dont go through a carb deficit with the expense of feeling tired all the time. I went through this last week and I didnt even realize it. up your carbs and hydrate
