Why am I constantly staving? Do I have a tapeworm or something?

Gah! This is what wrecks my diet. I spend most of my evening feeling like I am starving. I'm 100 calories over my goal and it's only 5 pm. Today, by 1 PM I was at almost 800 calories and felt like i hadn't eaten a damn thing all day long!

Could protein heavy AM's be the problem? I know most people say that protein makes them feel full, but that's definitely not the case with me.

Trex does nothing to suppress my appetite.

POst your diet. I was told I am deficient in several ares by an accupuncturist. As soon as I made up fro these defiencies I became anither person! No more binges due to the tape worm feeling - actually I told her I feltg like I had a tapeworm and then I felt like I had a dragon inside of me so I know how you feel.

I feel your pain! I looked at your log but didn't see how many T-Rex's you were taking. I know that for me, I didn't notice a difference until I started taking two T-Rex's twice a day. Now that I've been taking it for about 5 weeks, I've noticed my appetite starting to come back. It's possible you may have built up a tolerance to it. Don't want to say for sure though, since I don't know how many you've taken.

Also, protein is not what makes me feel full. The veggies seem to be what fills me up. That, or anything that contains a lot of fiber. Maybe some oatmeal in the morning will do the trick, if you can get yourself used to it. :worried:

I jsut started back on Trex and Sesamax this week to try to combat this feeling. I take 2 TREX twice a day. I actually get more appetite control when I take my Concerta.

I looked at your log , and are you drinking three protein shakes a day? This might be the source of your hunger.

I tried utilizing protein shakes as meals/snacks because of my work situation , and I found that no matter what brand or the protein amount I was hungry. The only thing that help the "full feeling" stay a little longer was the use of mixing it with egg whites instead of water , but then you up the calorie content.

Once I replaced the shake with "solid" food I was good to go :) So now I keep the skakes as an emergency option , when I know I might be out and can't get to something healthy or use it as ice cold alternative to ice cream. :p

Liquids are processed more quickly than solid foods leaving you feeling hungry sooner. So maybe try replacing the one of the shakes with something your body can "chew" on :)

I have one WITH breakfast - while still eating a full breakfast.

I have a 2nd PWO shake - basically as a "mid snack" between b'fast and lunch.

I will have a 3rd late in the evening if I'm still awake so that I have some protein in me for night time.

I still have b'fast, lunch, afternoon mid-meal, and dinner for real foods. I think that I *should* be fine with that - but between lunch and afternoon mid-meal I could eat a horse.

I was gonna say somethign similar. You were eating very low cals earlier this week. If you are just startign to eat more cals then your body may just now realizing how low the cals really were. Also if your carbs were very low for a long period of time, you may want to incorporate a refeed. Personally I've found a carb rotation works pretty well. An increase in carbs comes right before you start getting really damn starving helps a lot. Then you cut back down for a day or two, and then refeed again before your body realizes its been cut back.

But generally if you are realizing that you are hungry all the time I think its time to take a look at your diet. You are short on something. I am not a big fan of lots of protein shakes when you need real food. Also when you do try to cut way back on your total intake, it comes back at you --- you are better off on a carb cycling schedule or somethign where the low cal / low intake days are only a few at a time w/ /a refeed before your metabolism starts to bog down under the insufficient intake.

LOL. But there is only ONE of my shakes that is "in place" of a meal.

In the AM, I add protein to milk. I would normally just have teh b'fast of say eggs, bacon, and a glass of skim milk - but then add the protein in EXTRA.

Post Workout is the only time I have a shake rather than a meal. That may be the key - I can always try to incorporate some cottage chesse or something.

The late night shake is an extra. I usually do 5 meals a day. That is just added in on the rare occasions that I can stay awake after laying down with the kids.

I guess I need to tackle carb cycling again. I was having success the first time around, but something happened and I gave it up. I need to look back and see what it was.
