who is nelson montana...?

You asked for it. But I'm feeling a little surly today.

It isn't good form to speak about oneself, so I'll just present an opinion of some of the members of Elite who have issues with Nelson.

Nelson Montana is a guy with terrible genetics who as a 37 year old adult put on 25 pounds of muscle, drug free, with methods that he developed. And he also managed to add an additional 25 pounds with anabolics which he kept many years after his last cycle. Yet he can't know very much about training because he still isn't over 250 pounds.

Nelson is someone who has been involved in bodybuilding since seeing Arnold Swartzenegger at the Academy of Music in 1969, but he has little perspective of the sport.

Nelson is the author of "Steroids For Health" which gained acclaim as a revolutionary concept for the safe use of anabolics. The concepts were praised by men such as Dan Duchaine, yet they fail to impress some Elite members because they take far greater doses, so therefore they know more.

Nelson Montana is someone who has written over 300 articles. For some strange reason he has been able to fool all the editors of national magazines into publishing them.

Nelson has written ad copy, studied advertising and worked for a supplement company for 2 years yet he has no clue as to what he's talking about when it comes to supplements or supplement hype.

Nelson has the endorsement of men like Dave Draper and Eric Serrano and Dennis Weis, but that is meaningless because Bulldog needs more proof.

Nelson has helped hundreds of people obtain their goals when alll else failed. Unfortunately, all of those people will have to keep their gains up because some people who never read his book insist that those methods can't possibly work.

Nelson is a guy who prefers a healthy aesthetic body to that of a bloated lump so he can't be really hardcore.

Nelson believes that bodybuilding should be the betterment of oneself and not the quest to simply take up more space, so he must be a wuss.

Nelson is a guy who loves to learn, debate, and discuss, many things, including bodybuildng and appreciates the chance to share his thoughts and contrarian views with the members of this board.

And if I piss a few people off along the way, that's okay too.

Damn!

Give it up, spartacus, cause you ain't halve as smart as the gufus on elite!

BAHAH!

Now go read the thread, 'Where do you get your info' in which somebody says they get 95% of their info of this board!

BAHAHAHA! Sure makes it an easy win for the rest of us!

Nelson is still much bigger than u fag

excellent self promoter
controversial- sometime solely for the sake of being so
advocate of the "old school" methodology (at least the public version)
entertaining
though some of his theories, yes theories- they are theories.. not facts, may be just a bit off base

JMHO
even when he is, "off base", at least it does get the conversation going :p

A good guy who

-adds a unique and controversial perspective to the board,
- who also has unique ideas and 'insider' knowledge, and
- who concerns me when giving advice at times becuase I often get the impression it is advice meant to be different than the grain, not necessarily correct

Am I the only one who thinks Nelson's amazing knowledge is a little over hyped? This is nothing personal. I do enjoy a lot of Nelson's posts, and some I don't enjoy. It just seems like Nelson is a lot like me in a lot of ways (in other words, a pretty normal guy).

I started training again two years ago and weighed 145lbs. Now I weigh 175 at roughly the same fat% (around 10-12) and continue to gain. Of course, I'm all natural.

I'm also a writer- I publish a newsletter on bodybuilding. I also think my methods are great. But that's where the differences begin. I'm not a genius at marketing. And that's where Nelson seems to be at his best.

What I'm saying is this: Be objective about this stuff people. No one person can possibly know all there is to know. And, from what I've seen, Nelson seems like an average "expert" of the type that we have at least 5 or 6 of on this very board.-- Knowledgeable bros that each have their own specialty.

Nelson provides a personality to identify with, entertainment, and controversy. And, for me, it's all a little hard to swallow at times. My advice (for any person with similar thinking) is sit back, take what you like and have a good chuckle when things start getting a little crazy.

Later,
