Justs curious as to how badly we all have gotten fucked in the past... I know im out a few cycles worth of money on everything from andro stacks, to that god damn HMB bull shit.

Lets just say if I had all that money I wasted back right now I could take a very nice vacation..

Bill Phillips was the death of me back in high school:

Betagen
RiboForce (shutter)
Phosphagain 2

and so on.....

Now that I am older and more educated I figure just stick with the basics, protein-occasional creatine-gear (start my FIRST cycle this June!)

On a side note about how STUPID GNC workers can be, my friend went in there about 2 weeks ago and asked about what type of creatine to buy. Of course, he was directed to the GNC brand which he bought, and my friend is not as educated as most of us so he asked the employee how to take it...
Well, according to the GNC genius, the loading phase consists of taking 20 GRAMS 4 TIMES A DAY for a WEEK. Fortunately, my friend wasnt able to make it through the very first serving of 20 grams...and he called me up and asked me what the fuck was wrong.
2 weeks later his stomach is still feelin it.

Just a humerous story for ya guys!:D

LOL!!

Almighty I guess you had the 97' Sports supplement
review also..

Bill Phillips should have his ass kicked for that one.It
was just one huge advertisement for EAS..

i have wasted just about as much as anyone on junk supps:

Weider Chewable Aminos, 1987-1990
FRAC, 1991
boron, 1991
mega mass (mega GAS), 1991-1993
that sublingual SHIT suspended in alcohol and propylene glycol, supposedly made your endogenous GH levels raise, 1992
metabolol II, 1993-1994

HOWEVER......
that was an exciting time for me, growing up in the world of bodybuilding. i learned so much in that time period, i wouldn't do anything different....well, maybe the way i trained. I believe that all newbies should be given a few years to struggle at natural bodybuilding to see what kind of base they can acheive. I know much more about my own body and limitations due to my natural years.

PS....thank god i knew better when EAS products came to town! whoever said that about bill phillips needing his ass kicked was right.

At my local Supplement store where i buy protein by the bulk, Optimum Nutrition Protien... the 10lb for aroun 50 or so $, and they were out of that. The 17 year old girl insisted that Iso Pure was the only protein that was any good "best quality of all". So i ask her what makes it different? She just looked at me like "what in the hell was I to question her all knowing intellegence"!!! Protein is Protien is Protien the only difference is the sugars and carbs and all that garbage that comes with it. Damn... Ill drink that cheapest shit on the market if it does the job. Fuck that name brand horse shit! ARGH!

Wow,,,Boron man that takes me back..

Pharm animal, I think me & you came up in the same time.

Heres a few:

Hot stuff-shit I think they still make it

The giant horse pill amino 1000s that would come out
the same way in your shit

Yohimbe bark-when they claimed it was the next best
thing to AS. That was actually the first prohormone
scam to ever hit the market..

Have any of you heard of sarsparilla root?
I have know idea why i bought that crap.
Maybe because it was only 16.99.

Sorry guys..

I got you all beat. I blew 60 bucks on this bottle of 'testatropinol', a liquid homeobolic combination of a bunch of crap, basically. Not to mention countless creatine and other useless supplements.

I bought the old "Cybergenics" system a few years.

Expensive, and with a total over-training type program recommended with it.

LOL, live and learn.

I know this chick that works at a supplement store - and she says it so sad how so many of these kids (under20) walk in and want "SUPER WEIGHT GAIN 5000" or whatever......

LOL- you can just imagine them in their car, clasping the latest Joe Weider rippoff Mag (i.e. supplement pushing rag), seeing that "Mr. WHATEVER take this and gets HYOOOOOOOGE!".

Beefcake Beefcake!

LMFAO! Riker - reminds me soooo much of that SouthPark episode where Cartman buys into the WeightGain 4000 - "You too can live your dream. I'm living proof! BEEEEEEEFCAKE BEEFCAKE!"

Shit,I got sucked into Cybergenics too. That was some expensive garbage.I was young and dumb then,it was back in 1991 I was 18 and stuck in turkey in the Army.I actually sent my parents the money for a 4 months supply and had them ship it to me in a care package. What a waste:mad:

There have been a few different ones but the original Hot Stuff from about 10 years ago was the most useless worse tasting shit I ever tried.

There was this other crap called Smilax. What a complete waste of money.

SMILAX
YOH. BARK
HOT STUFF

damn, you guys are old school....I LOVE IT!

hot stuff was really big when i first started getting into BBing....nothing like raw glandulars..LMAO.....i also remember all the homeopathic liquids....which on their labels said contained 10x *insert hormone* ...which was in actuality a homeopathic preparation, diluted to 10 to the 10th power....so basically had ZERO active ingredient in it! and they can still make label claims similar to these nowadays! no wonder why the FDA wants to regulate the supplement industry!

maN i WAS THE biggest mark

Guys I used to advocate all these supplements,I was spending 300++$ a month on anything you can name I tried .....I did a natural competition(I WAS the only natural ther)Fuck Now Im starting my first cycle...
I know I learned alot ,I think I know more than most of you guys and god dammit I have a shape of a guy whi has juiced,But frankly I think all that cash I was spending gave me the placebo effect.I dont wanna think about that visa bill after my competition...all wasted cash....Now its time to play the game as all the big guys and with my base Ill blow them all away

These are funny to read. I feel better I'm not the only one that wasted money on that crap. :D
All that stuff I used from 10 to 15 years ago was total garbage. I don't even want to think what had before that.

Even in this day and age most of the supplements you see advertised in magazines that promise huge gains in muscle are still a waste of money.

Supplements...

Smilax...:p Man, that takes me back. The placebo affect must of been worth it. Hah:D

The time I made a trip across the border to buy Hotstuff cause they didn't sell it here. Has to be good if you halfta leave your country to get it I figured. Only if I new I should of been in TJ, Mexico. Instead of Niagara Falls New York.;) The best part was the advertising "Everything but the kitchen sink". Reading the contents was a hoot. They had a lot of shit in it. The best was Argentinean Testicle. After reading that all I could picture was a bunch of single nutted Argentinean guys walking around for the sake of me trying to put on some LBM. Ha:cool:

Cybergenics kit - actually lost a lot of fat on this program, but alot of strength (and muscle most likely). Got it on sale for about $60.00, instead of the regular $90.00 -100.00.

Super Sterols Pak - obviously no gains, but since I never had my cholesterol checked, I may have actually lowered my cholesterol levels (some sterols lower cholesterol).

Ferulic acid - bought this shit several times...why? I don't know, never got any results. But ferulic acid is a great anti-oxidant.

Heavyweight Gainer 900 - Great tasting, but why would a fat kid want 900+ calories (Hell! I even added ice cream sometimes) per serving?

Liver Extract Tabs

Cyclofenil - not the real one, the fake shit made by the company that made millions in the 80's - 90's...they became something like "Ameri- something".

I admit it, I used Cybergenics, and tried their Super Duper Overtraining Program.

Actually the result "looked" good in photos - lean and trim with a Sean Penn-like jawline - but then again I probably weighed a buck fifty five and my shirt was definitely staying on for those pics. :D

I think maybe Callista Flockheart has done the Cybergenics program.

I porbably spent a good 1000 buck from start ot finish of high school and freshmen year of college buying crap. THe worst was when I was buying arginine and orthinine and taking handfuls of them a day because that was supposed to increase GH secretion. I went though every individual amino at one point. I was also taking oatbrand sold as an expensive as supplement in the belief that it would increase my free testosterone. oh and one time I bought a 70 dollar pint of protein becuase it was supposed to have special igf reelease factors in it, it was bovarian chocolate flavored, and it had some huge dude on the front label. I thought I had got some steroids when I picked that shit up, and that was back when I thought steroids were even a big deal!

Too long to list - I must admit though Cybergenics takes me back - for those who did the workout - how about the vertical jump till you collapsed?

I couldnt begin to tell you how much cash I wasted. But the worst thing I bought was this liquid called Deca-Bolin. It smelled and tasted like pure craporama! I spent close to $100 on this shit. Man those were the bad days! hahaha Thank god for vitamin S:FRlol: :FRlol:

I spent like a hundred bucks almost on GHSTAK six months ago. Maybe I'll feed it to my hamster and see if he grows. Oh I can't my son's cat ate it this morning..rotf. So i'll feed it to the cat...

Voodoo, Iso Pure is good shit bro. Sci tech has some kickass shit too... Both are pricey though...

Devil's advocate here....

I just started taking Creatine Serum and I felt that it helped me pound out reps and motivated me throughout the workout when usually I get bored and tired at the 30 minute mark. Psychosomatic? Perhaps, but I like it so far as I don't have crazy notions that it will blow me up, so that helps.

Also, I like EAS Myoplex. I like it primarily for convenience as I don't expect any legal supplement to give me gains that proper diet, rest and exercise won't do.

I fell for the mustletech pro hormones and protien. The sad thing is I really though that I was going to blow up and I didn't want to tell anyone what I was "ON"..LOL.
I also went for the stuff that Markus Ruhl promotes for. I guess you live and learn. It's almost unfair the way these supplement companys are able to suduce you into believing whatever they say, especially when you first start out. Now I just buy whatever protien is the cheapest and best tasting, same goes for weight gainer.
---PEACE---Mad Max

The only things that I have stuck with is protein powder, creatine and glutamine.......prohormones suck, GH relaesers suck, any homeopathic stuff sucks....damn i wish i had all the money back that i wasted!

Wow I tried a couple of bottle of "The Beast" when I was 16... Wow what a waste of cash... I was working out on my York 2001.. Pretty fucking cool back then... LOL
