Eat brown rice for all the same reasons you eat wheat bread instead of white. I think the taste and the texture are much better than white. Good brown rice has a nutty flavor and a good bite to it. Love my stir-frys over it. Warning, though. I tried to make brown rice once in my rice cooker and it came out totally jacked up. I've heard some models can handle it okay but most can't, so I just use a saucepan the old fashioned way.
