non plats support the site too, they create traffic, EF gets paid by sponsors, so EF shows those banners, junk mail and other crap to non plats. Sponsors pay EF based on traffic not number of plat members.
What do you think would happen if the majority of members became plat, do you think sponsors would still pay for only a few people to see their banners? No, we (the plats) would then start getting all that junk, it's not like EF is going to say "we're making enough money, no need to make more"

So let me see if I understand this correctly. From what I have read on this one thread alone (I dont have time to "read up" on all this bombing nonsense) if someone is a NONPLAT member then they will be "bombed" by PLAT members for no REAL REASON other than because they are NONPLAT?

they dont really bully anyone, just dipshits and well the people who screw with them by giving them red first, which they are do to just have fun starting the karma war up. I havent see them go after nonplats indiscriminately. I know I feel purty safe with these guys around, its pretty funny actually and I like most all of the associates alot too.

The Bomb Squad was started as a joke, I think it started because two people noticed that they bombed the same person, which was hamstershaver, and we thought, fuck, if we get two more people to bomb this fag, his posts will be all blacked out, which would be cool right? Well yeah, not cool for him or anyone who cared to read his posts, but we figured if someone was actually upset that they couldn't read hamstershaver's posts, well then they basically deserved to be bombed the fuck up as well!
It worked like a charm, it wasn't hard to convince two more plat members to try out this oh so cool feature, that GEORGE SPELLWIN PMed EVERYONE ABOUT INVITING THEM TRY! It would be like sending out a PM about buying a how to get laid e-book. You can't send that out without a few newbies getting all riled up and excited about buying it and pooling their money together and sharing a god damn copy. Well with the bombs, the OG bomb squad members were those basic tools, just in a different equation.
Now what happened next was what lead directy to the Bomb Squad filing for recognition as a legal entity within the sacred EF business community. Since I haven't said it yet, please keep in mind that this site is a business, I know that everyone seems to say that a lot, so I thought I'd throw it in. And no, I don't want to be a mod and I'm not trying to kiss ass. But yeah, you guys loggin in to bomb people and start up karma gangs, that leads to more business here for a variety of reason. The first and foremost reasoning being, you gotta play to play. Meaning, you must be plat to BOMB people. Coincidentally, hey, if you shell out some cash and become plat, you CAN'T be bombed either. So its a win win really, right?
Well no. Some people decided to take it upon themselves to pretend that hamstershaver's posts were worthwhile and that bombing him somehow disrupted the space time continum. I should note, that I originally bombed hammy because I thought he and sokluless were basically overdoing it on this site with their fighting. I didn't realize that they were both in fact retarded and all those posts were perfectly excusable.
So yeah, then Goerge Spellwin bombed lumgerg for his avatar. And the same people that had bomed hammy hit that up as well. That didn't make lumberg like us very much. And then I bombed crak600. Really, I was bombing him for a post I read a LONG time ago, but never had the chance to bomb him for. I didn't find the post, but it was the one about him abandoning his pets and shit. Some really fucked up shit I couldn't believe because up until that point I thought the guy was pretty cool, fuck he had that shotgun avatar and shit. Too cool.
So there you go, we had hamstershaver, lumberg, and crak600 bombed 4 times or more. They were pissed, understandably. Other's came in to their defense. Of course APP, being gay, jumped in on their side. Quite a few others did too. Some of them just because they wanted to belong and wanted the chance to be part of something big. At this point there were 3 bomb squad members and 1 guy on the fence. It really wasn't even a big deal and we had no leader. I really thought it was a joke.
But people started bitching about this "Bomb Squad" so much we just started to acknowledge it as our name. So this group called the "associates" forms, and they all hit me with red karma one day. It was a decent attack I must say. Well organized and they had a lot of participation. There were a few big mis calculations in the plan though. One, I've been here a very long time and know quite a few people. It wasn't like they could start something so big and have it not get back to me. I was PMed many times by people warning me, and someone sent me the list of people who planned on attacking. That was cool. Then half the people on the list either didn't participate, or hit me with green instead! I actually gained karma at the end of the day! But there were about 10-12 solid hits of red, all on the same day, VERY well organized I'd say.
I didn't retaliate, I really deserved it and I took it like a man, didn't bitch or anything. But I will tell you what did happen. People were aware of the attack now and new that I wasn't someone's bitch to just sit by and take a big non plat red karma bomb for 200-300 points. So people started PMing me asking me if I wanted them to bomb someone back. It was awesome to see the number of people involved in bombing jump from 3-4 to 8+ in a week.
We stuck to bombing newbies. We were more of a covert missing and didn't brag about strikes. Most of our targets were bombed by numerous others as well.
But then I got bored, and I take full responsibility for the biteme bombing. It was fucked up, I was just bored and used him for fun. Sucks cuz he's a good guy and I took advantage of his good nature. I PMed him thought and did my best to make amends. I talked with spongebob as well on the boards and basically said hey, lets just chill this out for now. I respect his people and he respects mine to some extent. But there was still a coodianted attack on three bomb squad members that went down. Again this was a very well coordianted attack. Again I got word of it early, but there still isn't anything I could have done to stop it. Three of my members took the hits, about 5-10 each.
But this wasn't going to go unnoticed. People saw what was going on and the number of bomb squad members doubled again. Our numbers were amazingly strong, and a funny thing happened. Since biteme got bombed for expressing some political views. People from other boards who disagreed with biteme's post, agreed with the bombing, they disagreed with retaliation. So they were quickly incorporated into the group.
With this jump in numbers we were sure we had a spy in the group. It is no secret that certain bomb squad members have alliances to pre existing groups. But the beauty of the Bomb Squad is that we are not a secret group. We have nothing to hide. Our membership is not a secret, and when we bomb a target, our work is right there out there for everyone to see. You can't BOMB someone in secret!
So with our new numbers we coordinated a retaliation strike. We were able to move on it quickly since we had advance warning of the attack on us. We waited to see who participated and who didn't and targeted the subjects for attack.
We did NOT bomb people who were not involved. Even if someone publicly supported the associates in a thread, we did not bomb them unless they delivered red karma to someone first. Some of the people only gave one or two hits but others hit all targets.
We blacked out quite a few members and this again raised our profile greatly.
So where this goes from here is up to you. The Bomb Squad will not be striking people indiscriminantly. Of course the reasoning for bombing anyone is always subjective. So there me those that disagree with some of our actions at time. But we are all on the same team here, the bomb squad will be used to take care of spammers and the like. Just as George Spellwin intending it. Now of course from time to time someone may get hit. Somoene could post something out of line, talk some shit to the wrong person, and this thing all blows up again. Lets hope it doesn't.
