Guys, I'm trying to get some opinions and hear some personal experiences. Which is better to use after a weight training session if your goal is to get lean as possible(6-8% bodyfat)? Whole food like Chicken Breast and White Rice(High GI)?? Or Whey Protein Powder & Dextrose?? Or a combination of both, White Rice and Whey protein Powder?? What has been your experience???

If you were trying to get lean, I wouldn't even look at white rice, let alone put it in your mouth. PWO I'd go whey/destrose, and then maybe a chicken breast and some veggies an hour or 2 after that.

next time I cut I'm going for the shake JKurz has been talking about recently

oats + whey protein

it really makes sense

Dextrose/whey as your need to replinish glycogen immediately does NOT cease just because you are "dieting".

You make your adjustments at the other meals for fat loss progress.

If all else fails, and you believe you do better on lower gi carbs for pwo, you can try that too. However, I know a ton of people who get ripped on dextrose, and I utilize that as a principal in my pwo recommendations.

SC, that's as good as gold coming from you. Dextrose/Whey it is!!! One question, though. How do you measure it? I can get a bag of dextrose, but there's no measuring cup. How many grams of Carbs is 1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup??

Ok, I just read an old response from a guy that weighed the Dextrose with a digital scale. 1/4 cup= 35 grams, 1/3 cup= 47 grams & 1/2 cup= 70 grams.
