Where I am at currently physique wise.

Strip, the only advice I could give is to maintain perspective on what is truly important in life. Don't let others influence what you value because it will make you grow to resent them if you aren't doing things for the right reasons. Keep perspective! My biggest advice would be to not compete half-hearted. I just did it, I looked terrible. I only did the show because I told my friends and family I was doing it and they already had tickets and rooms. I wasn't hardly training at all and my diet was half-assed. If you are gonna compete you have to be 100% focused and dialed in. Bodybuilding in the competitive arena 1s 24/7, there are no breaks from it. That said, it is very rewarding to know you look your best. Best of luck and listen to the solid bro's on here, they are here to help!

Good advice! You cannot half-ass a comp prep...well you can and you will look half ass like.

I think my pics are on pages 16-22 of the Arkansas State Show section. Let me clarify, I'm the only guy under 60 with white hair!

Well...I saw your post and was very happy to see those words of wisdom come forth.

As family you know how much I worried all along. It was a relief really reading your post tonight. These decisions could not have come until you were ready to make them, no matter what anyone said. I always kept my worry to myself because when it comes to our own bodies, we all have to see the light for ourselves.

Saw you at the gym tonight and as I always said - you look better to me as a Lt Heavy. I am excited you are headed in this direction. You look shredded already.

Since everyone wants some pics and I know you don't have new ones yet - I thought I would post up some old "Classics" no one has seen before. A little nostalgia for this momentous occasion and this much welcomed turn of the tides...Good luck of course. Your big Sis.

Oh - and since you love quotes, here is one I felt fitting as you have arrived at your decision through your own experiences.

Life is the only real counselor; wisdom unfiltered through personal experience does not become a part of the moral tissue. - Edith Wharton
