when casein and when whey?

Hi.
Ok, i'm 100% sure of these 2:
post workout: whey
before bed: casein + omega3 oil

But what about in the morning? should i take casein + omega3 or whey in the morning?

Also, when should i add ginger root to my protein? always when i take whey to make it digest even faster (e.g. post workout) or also when i take casein?

and should i add fiber to any protein shake?

when i have a shake between meals and before i sleep I add fiber to slow down the digestion. My casein protein is super thick and fiber makes the shake thicker (but clump less)...

You might want to add Oatmeal to your morning shake... Very convenient way to start your morning...

and what kind of protein do i need in the morning? slow or fast digesting?

Morning:
1/2 cup oatmeal
4 egg whites, 1 yolk
20 g caseine
5g psyllium husk fiber

That's probably the best meal I've seen, unless you want to replace the fiber w/ and EFA.

ANSWER: slow digesting protein in the morning

last year, after reading this in one of those shit publications( muscle meadia 2k), i had to try this theory out.( good thing i was in my off-season) Around 9:00 pm, before i went to sleep, i took whey protein shake.( i never do this, i usaully eat a whole meal, like scrambled eggs) At arond 10:00, I found my self in the kitchen scrambling up some egg whites. The whey went right through my system and i was hungry a hour later. I then took caisen ( cottage cheese) before i went to sleep, and was satisfying. i did not have any hunger pangs before i went to sleep, nor did i wake-up in the middle of the night starving, proving the theory that casien is a better overall protein before sleep.

What bout if your morning meal was 1c oatmeal, 40g whey, 5g psyllium husk, 1tsp fish oil....and the whey would be the last thing you ate in the meal. Wouldn't the oats, fiber, and oil significantly slow down the digestion rate of the whey?

Yes, the variables would slow down the digestion. However, I would think the rate would even be slower w/ caseine.

Take whey with a high GI carb IMMEDIATELY as soon as you wake up to boost insulin and break the catabolism spell that your body went through at night. About half an hour later, go with breaky. I believe whey should be included at any meal where there is another source of slower digesting protein. This will spike amino acid levels in the blood from the whey, and they will be continually high from the other protein. Whey and Casein are good mixtures throughout the day.
