What's your take on one night stands?

Take this thread in the context that you would be single in the event of a one night stand.

I prefer old fashioned courting, but I wouldn't rule out a fling if the girl and I clicked and their was at least some chemistry there. And I would prefer it happened sober, or close to it. It all depends on the situation. I've grown tired of the club scene and how wasted everyone gets, where the goal is to basically just find some chick on the dance floor or at the bar to take home. It just seems a little too shallow for my taste.

When it comes down to it, I either like to make things harder for myself, or just like the extra challenge. Or both.

I'm thinking if I was in a situation where I was out of town and met a cool chick that I clicked with and we both knew there was chemistry between us, it would be hard for me to pass up a night of (protected) passion.

What it boils down to is that it would take a situation deemed too good to pass up for me to have a one night stand....

...mind you, this isn't the same as a situation that's too good to be true.

Exactly what I think. I am not oppossed to one-night stands because of their shallow nature, I am just worried about getting diseases and possibly getting some girl pregnant. I go to SDSU, so I am in STD country, not something I want to contract.
If we were back in the days of virtually no STD's and the pill first coming out, I would have to reconsider my position.
