What's up with Jose canseco

Wow, I'm suprised by all the Jose Canseco bashing. I thought he would be a champion for us all. This is an excerpt from his book http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3396014

In it he says things that we all have been saying for sometime now. Now we have someone on our side telling the real truth about AAS and not the media bullshit version and you guys trash him, I don't get it. I'll list a few of my favorite things:

"In no way, shape, or form, do I endorse the use of steroids without proper medical advice and thorough expert supervision. I'll say it again: Steroids are serious."

"I'm especially critical of anyone who starts playing around with steroids too early, when they are barely old enough to shave and not even fully grown yet. Your body is already raging with hormones at that age, and the last thing you want to do is wreak havoc with your body's natural balance. If you want to turn yourself into a nearly superhuman athlete, the way I did, you need to wait until you have matured into adulthood."

"Yes, you heard me right: Steroids, used correctly, will not only make you stronger and sexier, they will also make you healthier."

"But let me be clear that I'm writing this book for people who are ready to think for themselves. "

If all this sounds familiar, it's because we've been saying it for years. But, of coarse all the media wants to talk about is the people who took AAS in baseball and you all fell for it. Give the guy credit for telling the masses what we've been saying all along.

I'm split, I give him credit for slapping MLB in the face with this because they really deserved after all these years of trying to cover up AAS use; but I'm not for ratting out other people.....

I don't condone what he did, but I can find some satisfaction in him pissing in MLB's cheerios.

oh yeah, on more thing..........fuck Tony LaRussa, that limpdick is a hypocrite....saying that he KNEW Canseco was on roids the whole time, then explaining that McGwire was natural and gained all his bulk strictly from hard work in the gym.....surrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre...

As far as we know, the players he ratted out dicked him over .. how do we know? He's obviously pissed and this seems to be his revenge. Credit to him for preaching that steroid usage can be safe with proper education and supervision.

Money or lackof can make people do things they normally wouldn't.

I don't think women would be hookers for fun....

Him telling the truth about steroids is important and positive

It's amazing how much people want to hear what Canseco has to say. He's got more airtime than the MLB players. He's in a sense the face of steroid use in sports right now.....

He holds all the cards.......now all Bonds, Giambi, Sheffield etc can do is wait and hope he shuts up.

eh Nugga.......you nuttier than a snickers......

Crooklyn's fynest can't touch the Westside B's & C's....

First off you must have snorted some juice for saying that. New York is where it all starts. SOme pop rap, and some "reality" rap, but from former artists now producers Afrikka Bambatta and Grandmaster Flash to newer artists like Hova , DMX and Mobb Deep. Second off there's a whole lot of spots in New York hip hop originates Bronx , Queens, Manhattan, Long Island , Staten Island , Uptown, and parts of Jersey. Busta Rhymes in Brooklyn, Krs1 from south Bronx, Run DMC , Ja Rule , 50 Cent in Queens, Method Man in Long Island, and RedMan in Jersey. I could go on forever....

You talking about a whole lot of rappers and producers who were rappers from the year rap was started... Know what year that was?

Jay-Z ain't no gangsta.......he's a sloppy rapper who got his start on some Hawaiin Sofie shit...

I don't think Jay-Z wants to be known as a gansta either. I think Jay-z wants to span many levels , but a gansta... I don't think he ever claimed to be. hard yes ,gangsta no. There is a difference.

Biggie got his start from Pac.......who you think let him come rap during his shows.......after Pac already had 4 albums out and was the only one who would give Biggie's fatass the time of day?

That's true from what I understand , but Biggie got most of his fame from associating with Heavy D and P Diddy

Biggie a gangsta? Please......he went out like a bitch.....Pac fucked his wife, then admitted it on national television and Biggie didn't even answer back to that.

I never said Biggie was a gangsta. New York rap ain't about that for the most part. "Gangsta rap" or "Reality Rap" was started by Ice-T mostly and was for the his crowd, being mostly bloods of south central. Your studio Gangsta friend Dr Dre turned it into something they promote in a pop culture sense. It's almost black exploitation of the 60 with people like Curtis Mayfield, and Isaac Hayes revisited, but blacks exploit other blacks for record sales. Alot of us ain't down with that.

The only thing outta Crooklyn these days is Kool-Aid Flavored PopRap and Puffy's gay ass tryin' to dance & rap........StiLL after all these years....

I respect Joey Crack reppin' the Puerto Ricans, but as far as black rap, NY has no credibility left....

You need to learn more about the game before making that comment.

I respect the roots of rap in the NYC; however I'm talking about the here and now......not the past.

NOW........the only rappers who are real in NYC are the fundamentalists like Talib Kweli and Mos Def.....aka Black Starr.....

Jay-Z? he has no credibility on the West Coast.....and never did.....the same goes for Nas, Junior Mafia and any of those Puffy protege's. No street cred = no respect........at least out west.

Why you think Biggie was getting punked when he came out West after Pac got shot? NY Rap is all about bling......WestCoast is about icepick, bubble & grind......it's about getting somewhere.....not about what you wear or what flavor of the month you wanna pump.

The West is real, the more underground you go, the better it is......

Esp in Oakland, I'd rather keep it independent and real than sell out and poprap like the East Coast did.

Of all the recent NY artists, the only ones who got any credibility out west are: Red & Meth, Busta Rhymes...

The others you mentioned are not respected.......Nas? 50Cent? Mobb Deep? DMX? no....

Nas is weak, he lives in fantasies, tried to improve his position by doing "THugz Mansion", when in reality Pac didn't like Nas...never worked with Nas etc.......

50Cent thinks he's the east coast version of PAC.....tries too hard.

Mobb Deep never recovered after Pac killed them in "Hit 'em Up". Never been the same since.....they're haters and haven't done anything since.

Puffy? Don't get me started......

I consider Run DMC, KRS-1, Grandmaster Flash, Sugarhill Gang, Public Enemy, Kool Keith the forefathers....and I respect them in all ways....

I think it's a shame how the NY rappers who followed in their footsteps fell off.......only now with people like Mos Def and Talib Kweli is the creative force coming back, pushing out the Bling and getting back to basics.

The only thing worse than the blingbling candyrap are the people who buy it.....for every carbon copy nigga wearin a NYC baseball cap, I can only shake my head in dismay.....

That's what hip-hop has come to......carboncopy soundalike rappers......and NY is the cause.
