Whats the best deer rifle?

So I'm looking for a new deer rifle that is super accurate and around a thousand bucks. I've been leaning towards a Remington 700 but not sold on it yet. Anyone have a favorite?

I like my 700. It carries light and is good for long range shots.

fuck i dunno...my dad bought the gun a long time ago from some drunk that was hard up for money...it was still in the box when he bought it...i'm 48 now, so it's gotta be at least 40 years old.

Model 760 Gamemaster Pump Action Centerfire Rifle

...it was discontinued in 1981...that's kinda sad...it's a great rifle.
