I won't buy this brand any more. I found it not fit for constant, daily use. It might fare well for occasional workouts or if you have an office job, though.
I stick with boots or a mid-range pair of Nike air shoes (if I can find a pair that's not horribly obnoxious looking. I wouldn't be caught dead in those ugly Nike shox things.)

trust him. we make fun of these guys, but they know fashion.PuddleMonkey said:Good advice here! I avoided Asics for years because of how ugly they were, and also because the one time I tried a pair on they felt horrible. Get fitted for the right shoe and you wont regret it. I have the Asics Cumulus 9 now and they rule so much I might just wear them to bed tonight.

I've got a pair that are about 5 years old and besides being really dirty, they have little to no wear on them at all.
+1. After a year get new shoes for running and wear the old ones for fashion. ONLY wearing your running shoes to run in. I'm partial to Asics GT-2xxx series, currently 2110.tatyana_zadorozny said:I hope you are not still running in them. Running shoes have a lifespan, it is usually x number of miles.
I often buy 2-3 pairs/year and rotate them for running.
After a year (depends how much I am running), I don't wear them for that anymore.
They may be comfortable and feel ok, but they would have LONG lost their ability to absorb the impact of running
Yep, Nike make nice looking shoes but they're no good for a high mileage runner.TC2 said:New Balance or Mizuno are very good shoes, fuck Nike..they are overpriced pieces of shit the tear up way too quickly.

The BEST running shoe you could possibly get, is the one that feels most comfortable for you.
Every brand has its own nuances, some people like one brand over the other, some people need a specific model.
I'd try out the basic entry level runners for Nike (Air Pegasus), Reebok, Brooks, New Balance, Saucony, and Mizuno. There are others, but in that order try on shoes. Many people like Nike or Reebok, some of the other brands offer slight differences that people like. Things like running style (do you over or under pronate?), weight, and terrain you will be running on can make a difference.
