Things with high protein, cals, and carbs ( complex, not simple ).
-Tuna ( Cannes is cheap and high in protein )
-Chicken ( not fried )
-Milk ( Skim if possible, what I do is mix about 1/3 choc skim with the rest skim and get -about a little total, makes a cheap protein shake )
-Whey Protein
-eggs!
-gainers
-oats
-lots of veggies
-lots of fruit ( good in shakes )
-Venison meat ( deer, antilope, anything else if you have it, or go hunting, it's really lean )
here's an example of one of my homemade gainer shakes:
- 1 egg
- about 600 cals of gainer which then has about 60g of protein too
- 5g creatine
- 1 cup of yogurt
- fruits ( bananas, stawberries, blueberries, or anything you can find )
- flaxseed ( good for digestive system when consuming this many cals )
- oats ( good carbs )
- granola ( good carbs )
- and enough milk to top it off and make it liquid enough to drink
I always have something like that after workouts
Also: make sure you get something in your system right after your workout, no delay! your body is most suseptable and thirsty for materials to build those muscles in the first 30 minutes after the workout.
