What was your typical diet like before you worked out?

Mine was somethign like this:

Poptarts or cereal in the morning.

Some fast food like meal at school, plus some chips or candy bar.

Lots of carbonated beverages.

Fastfood meal like taco bell tacos or quarter pounder from mickey d's.

It is UNBELIEVABLE what types of foods are being served in a highschool cafeteria.

French Fries are part of ever meal, no veggies ever, no fruits, usually some type of fried sandwich. All snack machines sell only cokes and candies. It is shocking to see how people eat. Yet I used to do same thing.
 
I was a vegetarian growing up and through most of adolesence. Then, in the 90's I sold and out and began eating beef.

I'm now over 210 lbs...gotta love beef.
 
breakfast: cereal, poptarts, buttered bagel

Lunch: caffeteria food, mcdonalds, pizza almost every day, burger king

Dinner: whatever mom made, usually chicken cutlet, mashed potatoes, chicken, pork


Snacks: chips, sodas, candy

Of course i got rid of all my snacks, except for an occasional soda, i stopped eating mcdonalds, BK, and caffeteria food, poptarts, and buttered bagels.

Why is it "retarded" to be a vegetarian Salami?

I think it's retarded that we eat beef when we know it clogs our arteries.
 
because meat is quality protein. its much healthier to eat meat. vegetarians are often getting fat by eating cheese and shit.
 
Who drinks carbonated drinks? I drink pepsi from a fountain at work sometimes but rarely. They are expensive, stain your teeth, and make you gain weight. So I don't need it.
 
This is what I ate on a day to day basis before I figured out what lifting and getting in shape was all about.

No breakfast(Unless my friend and I stopped at the gas station for a soda and some doughnuts or doritos.

10:00 - Muffin and chips or candy bar with a coke

12:30 - Pizza or burritos or hamburger or if that was not available, I would go to the snack shop on campus and get an assortment of candy, chips, muffins, cup o noodles and a coke

4:00 - Whatever junkfood was in the house. Chips, cookies, ice-cream, leftover mexican or chinese food, AND another soda

7:00 - Whatever my mom cooked, usually spagetti or tacos or fried chicken or potato soup or dumplings and a soda.

10:00-10:30 - A hugh bowl of ceral or a plate of brownies or ice cream(some sort of desert)

It's no wonder that just last year, when I was a senior in h.s., I was 250lbs. at 6'1" w/ no muscular development.

I am NOW 195 and packing more muscle mass than I had before. I am glad that I got my diet in check before I turned obese. I can see how people can get caught up in food. It's very easy to balloon up with a bad diet and no physical activity.
 
Spliff on the way to school

. . . some kind of drink

Cigarettes x?

Spliff at lunch

. . . some kind of fluid and maybe some chips or cookies

Soft cafeteria bagels with bacon and cheddar cheese

Spliff after school

Go home pass out from malnutrition

Wake up whenever. . . go out and smoke more till I can't smoke no more

Oh mann, Im glad I stopped that viscious cycle

My family agrees that my dad has the worst diet we have ever seen. He does not eat breakfast or lunch. He drinks coffee and smokes throughout the day. He doesn't eat until about 5pm. His meal consists of fried pork steak, beans and corn, and cranberry sauce. He fries his meat with SOOOO much grease. He uses more salt than I have ever seen. He only eats that one meal. Then he drinks about a quart of whiskey and then goes to bed. Its pretty sad but I can't stop him. He is too stubborn. I don't get it. He could eat good and live longer and have more energy, or he can just kill himself, tough decision.

whoa. first, good thread, garza. much better than the fat people thread. lol. but man! that's soooo fucked up! it's like you don't have very many choices in U.S. schools. either you eat very unhealthy, or you don't eat at all! very odd. no wonder that so many young girls get eating disorders, when there isn't much healthy food available.

My dad's side is spanish. My great grandpa came from Madrid. My family acts white, just has some spanish characteristics. I wish they would all quit marrying heinz 57 women. I'm not going to make that mistake. I am marrying a latina so my kids will actually look hispanic whilst having my last name.

i never gain weight or get pudgy so what did i care right?

lol... now i feel better about how i look. i was started to look like everyone else (no definition) and i wasn't used to it... always used to be in shape because i was in sports.

Don't remember the exact food every day but what I do remember:
Every day I would have McDonalds. Every day it was the same thing- 9 piece chicken mcnugget, large fry, chocolate shake. EVERY DAY!

Plus I would drink at least 3 cans of soda EVERY DAY!
Did I mention I did this every day?:)
 
i ate 90% fast food,i was 135 at 25% bf,thats all i would eat almost every nite,my family still eats that way alot,but i cook for myself now
 
LOL Garza your father is spanish but isn´t white? Must be one of those 2% of the population... Go to Spain... Spanish people are white... Mexicans, Cubans and Puerto Ricans have only some spanish characteristics...

In my High School if we wanted to eat at school we would have to eat some sandwich with some soda or some candies because the rest wasn´t available... Or we could go to the mall and eat the usual mcdonalds or burguer king´s food... Or some pizza, whatever... Or, if we lived near the school, we could go home and eat something healthy. Luckily i´ve always had my grandparents to support my healthy habits lol...
 
me and most of my friends ate like crap in HS(some still do) but once u start busting your ass in the gym u get to see how much work it requires to burn fat off your body..fast food just isnt worth the extra work

Haha.....

I went grocery shopping today and the fattiest thing I bought was some rice krispy treats. I bought tuna, veggies, a big ass box of uncle bens instant rice, 2 bags of chicken thighs, 4 gallons of water, milk, ramen noodles, and ground beef. It will all be gone in about 5 days lol.
 
well i was lucky growing up in a traditional korean home..In the morning my mom would make me eat some milk, cereal, and eggs and toast and fruit (the usual every fuckin day)..then at lunch she would pack a chicken sandwich, raw veggies (brocolli, carrot sticks, celery) and I always brought a thermos filled with orange juice or apple juice..

and this was in high school folks lol

Then at night I would come home to some rice, fish, steak, kimchi (spicy cabbage), asssorted vegetables...

We never ate out, never bought pop at the store, and once I got serious into sports my freshman year in high school I could tell I gained muscle, kept lean a hell of a lot easier than my classmates...If I had only eaten more protein throughout the day, I woulda gained more muscle..I would just eat the fish or steak at dinner at my home..maybe 100 grams of protein a day which is weak..

I wish I knew back then what I know now..oh well
 
I think best thing to do is stop buying all the pre packed, microwaveable things. I now only buy chicken, beef, rice, fruits and veggies. (Of course milk and a few snacks, too.) I used to buy like 10 tv dinners every week, they are loaded with excess fat and are expensive. I used to spend like 80 a week on groceries, now I spend like 50 and I'm eating healthier and more.
 
Breakfast - Leftovers from the night before/heroin.

Lunch - Sandwich, few shots of scotch, heroin.

Dinner - Whatever I cooked, more scotch and heroin.

My body was a wreck. Then I discovered the morgue.
