Whey post w/o (with some dextrose of course), and whey when i wake up from the nightly fast (well i take a scoop of whey midway through also, so not a total fast ).
during the daytime.......i take Whey with flax, or metrx (casein, egg and longer acting proteins in addition to some whey in there). this keeps the protein in your system longer.....casein/egg/milk proteins release very slowly. whey with flax mixed in releases somewhat more slowly than just whey.
def a metrx (or any casein/egg/milk protein drink with whey too) before bed.
and i'm cutting now, so a turkey sandwich and some 1% milk along with a few hard boiled eggs for whole food.
usually use either optimum or GNC pro performance 100% whey for the whey.........and metrx for the longer acting protein. but sub in myoplex also time to time as far as brands. i like to do 1 1/2 grams my bodyweight when cutting and 2 grams or more per lb BW when bulking of protein.
I know there are a lot of guys that would recommend specialty proteins, but I've always had great results with Ultimate Nutrition's ProStar Whey Protein. The chocolate flavor tastes damn good too mixed with a little skim milk.
metamyosyn is a "state of the art" lol combo of casein/egg/etc (slow release) and whey (quick release protein) created my metrx. sort of ahead of its time since back then everyone used whey and said casein and the like were crap. now we know that we need slow release protein also (at night before bed/during the workday etc). Whey is the best quality protein as far as its score of 100 something. basically whey is quick release and the highest quality.....the rest are slower release and a bit lesser quality (not poor quality, just not as good as whey). i have not heard of a protein with a P, but then again if you gave the whole name i might know of it.
