what to do to stay motivated?

Im having trouble sticking to a decent diet. I was one of those kids who could eat a house and not see an ounce of fat. Granted i was a competetive swimmer so that helped to.

Im only 23 now but spent years doing nothing and my metabolism slowed down and I got a nice little spare tire.

ive gotten back into things over the last couple of years, more so in the last 3 months. my abs are visible up top but the lower 3/4 to 1/2 still have a good amt of fat covering it.
Ive never had to deal with my diet so this is has been tough for me.

ill have a good 3-5 days of eating healthy but then the weekend will hit and Ill foul it up by having pizza and/or chicken wings(man i love chicken wings).
I see no issue eating this stuff every so often when you are in shape but i eat it TOO often at this point imo.

so my question is. How do you guys stay motivated (especially on the weekend) ? and those times when you are too tired to cook healthy. what do you do? I think ive got the tired part down. the best I can do is have a 6" roasted chicken from subway(sometimes double meat ).

any ideas/tips are welcome.

To be honest I open up a maxim magazine! Lol

Its hard and I too fall victim to cheating at times! But its a mental game! I think about the guilt I'll feel after and its not worth it!

When I get lazy and don't prepare enough food, I get hungry. When I let myself get too hungry then I just want to eat anything(usually something bad of course). So my problem is making myself prepare EVERYthing. I think we need to find foods that store well. For example the protein pancakes work super well. They taste the same all day as long as you dont let them get soggy right after you cook them. I find that grilled chicken stinks and gets really wet when stored in tupperwear. And canned chicken stinks all the time. =(

I always have frozen veggies in the freezer so no excuse there....and there's always cooked meats in the fridge....so no excuse there either....

Try to find foods that you like which are healthy and low in calories (red caspicums, salmon, carrots, pumpkin and sweet potatoes are examples for me). Diet soft drinks are great for this purpose

To stay motivated, just make yourself walk around in tank tops all the time or no shirts at home (the embarrassment of looking fat would be enough for me to adopt a stricter diet).

I used to find it harder when I would drink more regularly, as this would encourage me to eat greasy food on the night and next morning in order to recover from the sickening alcohol feeling. In the last year though I've scrapped the alcohol except for the odd special occasion (I have found that alcohol now worsens my migraines so I have started to basically never drink it).
