What the hell is CKD diet?

i havent seen a thread yet explaining CKD, what is it, what food/proportion is needed, etc etc?

thx for any help
 
Check out massmonsters.org they can give you the breakdown of the proteins, carbs, and fats. There was a post maybe 1-2 weeks ago explaining the whole diet in detail and who uses it for what purpose.

CKD = cyclo ketonic (or ketogenic) diet

Think of atkins; now, CKD is a form of Atkins but for athletes (more advaced). With CKD, you basically eat no/low carbs (below 20-30 g per day) per day and about 70%fat/30%protein per day (average). In addition, 1 day a week you have a carb-up that allows you to refeed muscle glycogen and create and anabolic environment in the body to consolidate muscle gains and/or glycogen replenishes.

Day 1-6: low carbs/high fat/protein
Day 7: carb-up

how do you loose fat by eating so much fat??

Eating so much fat allows your body to switch from a carb-based metabolism to a fat-based metabolism. Meaning, you will burn fat for fuel. Basically, your body will be in a state of ketosis where Ketones and FFAs (free fatty acids) are used for energy; thus, your body becomes a fat-burning machines.

That's the basics, but there is a lot more to it....

How are you supposed to eat 20-30g carbs??? Even the highest-protein containing products have a significant amount of carbs. Are there really any foods out there that have no carbs, or extremely low amounts, because I have not really seen anything that has ZERO carbs yet, except water

You aim for zero and you'll get near to it.

Make animal flesh and greens your best friend.

id there really that much of a difference in cabing up everypost workout as appossed to once a weeK?

if so why?

Foods w/ no carbs:
Meat and anything related, tuna
foods w/ very minor carbs:
eggs, cheese, green veggies
