What should I eat and what should i not?.

Well hey guys im new, im 6.ft and 160lbs, lol. I like the site and thought i would ask in this section about what i should eat and what i should stay away from for sure. Lately i been workin so much i don't have time to go to a workout gym or other local places like that, even though i would like too. I still to manage to pull off basic sit ups and push ups at night a few times out of the week. Btw i usually eat just random stuff from time to time, im 20, and of course it's not the greatest stuff and some is junk to eat and i know i feel kinda bad even looking at it before i eat it, lol..thanks for any input later. :)

O and a better basic beginners workout routine would be nice too if anyone has suggestions on how to workout at home with out gym equipment.

Bump, no opinions?.. It's not like i pay attention to what im suppose to eat and not suppose to eat. I don't know about sodium and carbs and all that other stuff.

Hey bro, I am new also, but if you look at the top of the page there is a sticky by pintoca, I believe it is, and it has great information about all aspects of a good clean diet. Also what are you trying to do, cut or bulk? This will have a lot to do with the cals that you need to take in.

Hey thanks, i did not notice that above but i will check it out. Rather go cut then bulk cause it seems to work somewhat better for me since im already kinda skinny, lol. Im not sure how many calories i take in threw out the day or pay attention to them for that matter, but i'll start lookin out for them. How many calories should i take in anyways?, thanks. :)

In the sticky above you will find calculators to find out all of the correct numbers of cals that you are going to need, for whatever path you choose. If you end up cutting, its really all about diet, and proper cardio in my opinion. Post up if you got any other questions after you read the whole sticky above.

Bro i would really think about bulking up a bit. 6ft and 160 lbs..man thats really thin. Chances are being that thin you have a really fast metabolism, so your going to have to eat quite a bit, probably much more than you are now. Its tough to say because you haven't given any specifics as to what you are eating now. But concentrate on protein- chicken, steak, eggs, turkey, tuna. And complex carbs- oatmeal, rice, baked potatoes. Check out that calculator and find out what your maintenance is and shoot for like 500 cals over it to start. Really at your weight and height its not like you will just lift weights and get huge, it will take a lot of work to maintain any mass.

Thanks for the replys and keep em comin if you like. Actually i don't maintain mass at all, the highest i have ever weighed was like 170. When i started working at pepboys as a tire installer last year for the summer where i use to work at i was runnin around liftin truck tires and other things and sweating out in the bay so much i lost 10 pounds in about 2-3 weeks i think it was. At the time i was takin stacker 2/3 at the same time though, ever since i have stayed at about 160lbs, literally. I checked myself on the scale one time a few weeks back for once in a while and thought i went back up to 170, when i was surprised that i was still at a 160lbs. Like i said i eat random stuff threw out the day, being somewhat picky or in discomfort in choosing what i eat. Like yesterday i think i had like, i was off yesterday so i woke up later in the day, i went and eat at waffle house. Had one multi grain waffle 3 strips of bacon, 1 cup of tea. Went to movies, left and went home, then i eat later that night 4-5 pieces of ham with no bread just the ham, then a little piece of cheese, then a pint of ice cream, "i know that was a bad idea", lol...Thats all i can really think of besides havin a couple cokes threw out the night before i took a sleeping pill. Then i woke up today and went to work right away, did not eat anything, so later in the day i had time to snack on something. I thought it be a better idea to choose something healthy, so before i left home to go to work i did more sit ups and push ups "then usual" and eat later in the day, 1 protein bar, 1 bottle of water, 1 pack of beef jerky, 1 sobe drink, took a pill of epehdrine?, another bottle of water later with 2 vitamin muffins i think they are called?, eh thats it really. Tell me what you think, i'll try to eat more of what you said and workout at home harder in my spare time. :)

lol i did not even notice that, i find that funny. It's kinda next to impossible to bulk for me, because i have never had a easy time gaining weight. The closest i have ever come was maybe a little bit of a tummy goin on but thats not anything. Im still thin and pretty much skinny, and my body tends to show more of a "go for cut" look, and i honestly do NOT want to be some big guy with alot of muscles. Im still strong enough to manage to move my engine block around and a couple transmissions but im not bench pressing no 2-300 pounds or and crazy ass lifts like that, i don't wanna kill my back or my heart to explode for that matter. :worried:
