If you’re the type of person that loves music while working out

Tell me..

Tell everyone else...

What makes you want to tear up your gym or wreck your basement?

Here are my adrenalin pumps

Rage
Dr Dre
Snoop
Korn

It’s a great way of turning off your body’s safety switch, kinda like a gun ..
:D

This has been done before, but I love music, so ...

My gym has a general rock station on all the time. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's just plain crap. If I had my way, I'd have them blasting some Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, old school Metallica, Testament, Otep, Five Pointe O, Flaw ...

I can name bands forever, so I'll just say: Heavy fucking metal!!

:garza:

Man, nothing wrong with Styx and Foreigner. Quality classic rock. :)

Actually, there is nothing wrong with any of these bands. . .they are all classics. To tell you the truth I really don't care what type of music is playing when I am training. Music does not affect my training.

Tool
NIN
Rammstein - this is some of the best lifting music ever
Static X - ditto for this
KMFDM
Hed PE

every now and then I might throw a rap MP3 mix in the ole mp3 player.....like some Wu-tang, 2Pac, etc

music effects my workout in a big way......especially if I am not thrilled about being there that particular day to begin with......I just can't get pumped up for a workout listening to some crap radio station.....mp3 players and headphones are a godsend......

I can totally not want to be there, but once I get started and the music is blasting through my heaphones, I forget all about that and get down to business!

Music is important to me too......If it is one of those days where I just can't lose my mind and go nuts, I need a little boost from the music, and the standard top 40 crap won't cut it.....I like Wu Tang, Metallica, Dre, Pac, Ramstein, Linkin Park to name a few......there is also music I love like Zeppelin, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, and FLoyd, but I can't fucking lift to it though, in the car or puffing on a J it is good, but I can't fucking get crazy to darkside of the moon.....

Gonna make a new cd tonight for next week's training...

Dance/Electronica...

...I'm not looking to be angry, just ...hmm... focused. :D
Although my stupid gym plays classic rock stations in the weight room. Much as I love Elton John, he's not too physically motivating.

I listen to digital hardcore, tiesto and oakenfold tracks, as well as vocals in the gym

Download all these, theyre all good:

Pete Rock, Raekwon, Prodigy - The Game
Royce Da 5'9 - Rock City
GZA - 4th Chamber
Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch, Kanye West - Guerilla Monsoon Rap
Canibus - Beast from the East
Mobb Deep - Quiet Storm
Mobb Deep - Survival of the Fittest
M.O.P. - Ante Up
Royce Da 5'9 - Boom
Nas, Jadakiss, Big Pun - John Blaze
Tupac - Hit Em Up
Wu Tang Clan - Protect Ya Neck
Wu Tang Clan - Triumph

My gym plays the usual shiz...can you imagine listening to Christina Aguilera while working out? Well I don't have to imagine it. Sometimes it's good, but usually not.

If I had my way, it would be hard, aggressive, grooving music that falls just short of mindless noise. Some shit like Pantera, Faith No More, Primus, etc...

To be more specific, Quiet Riot - Bang Your Head, would rock in the gym.

i like listening to some Mudvayne right before i go to the gym. gets me pretty pumped.

yeah, my workout music changes periodically, but i have nothing but mudvayne on the minidisc in my player now.

other than that, my main choices are disturbed, static x, and rammstein for lifting

i wanna get a discman for workin out, but they are spendy and im pretty broke right now. plus, i need to able to talk to and hear my workout partner. :D

mudvayne by far gets me the most pumped up. i never even used to like that kind of music, but a friend of mine suggested it and now i can't get enough of it.

im listening to Mercy, Severity right now, its one of their best songs, that and Dig pump me up

Reveille - What you got?
Awesome tune to bang the plates to. It is Ken Shamrocks intro music in UFC.

I have a kick ass lifting cd I made. Here it is:

Eminem - Without me
Reveille - What you got?
DMX - Up in here
Drowning Pool - Tear away
Foo Fighters - All my life
Method of Mayhem - Hypocritical
Saliva - Click Click Boom
NWA - Fuck the Police
Sum 41 - Fat Lip

i could lift to led zeppelin......

alot better than britney, nsync and r&b that my old gym used to play

Rammstein for sure, but my favourite single song to have on during a work set has to be Drowning Pool - Bodies.

LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOOOOOR

In my gym we just listen to the radio, but it's always some good hard rock.

On the way to the gym in my car, I like to listen to Metallica, Black Sabbath, Alice in Chains, Guns N Roses, Iced Earth, or the Misfits.

Gym Mix in my walkman right now consists of the following:

Hatebreed
Biohazard
Metallica
Ozzy
Korn
Spineshank
Godsmack
Pantera
Static-X
Fear Factory
Coal Chamber
Sepultura
SlipKnot
SX-10(CYPRESS HILL)

I'm not sure what the deal is with gym music except most people agree that is sucks. So I have a nice little mp3 that I take. I consider my music almost as important as my workout. Planning both out carefully. Good music gives me a good lift and a good attitude.

I like aggressive music, today I have the following on my player.

Rage
Korn
Godsmack
Eminem
Prodigy
Linkin Park

sometimes I mix some old classics like zepplin, the who, even some funky disco shit. Whatever puts me in the right mind set. Thank god for Kazaza. I can steal whatever the hell I want :).

rest in pieces, thats it! thx dude

Horrible song. They went downhill after the first album ...

Anyway, on to lifting songs ...

Hatebreed - Youre Never Alone
Killswitch Engage - Rise Inside
Five Pointe O - Double X Minus
Mudvayne - Dig
Stone Sour - Get Inside
Slipknot - Left Behind
Soilwork - Follow the Hollow
Brand New Sin - Broken Soul
Disturbed - Liberate
Soil - Need to Feel

There are some my choice songs. Enjoy.

i like all kinds of music gettinlarger, im not to particular about what i listen to.

Why all the nu metal :P? Doesn't that kind of associate going to the gym with anger and violence? I'd rather be in a sort of zen-like state, almost relaxed but not quite.

I listen to Godsmack a lot. But I really like bagpipe music when i am liftin. Straight up Bill Kazemeier style.

Cheers,
Scotsman

lol, bagpipes would put me too sleep. even though im irish and scotish, along with some other euro stuff.

My gym has on a satellite dance station which has no commercials and is okay

but its pretty cool when they switch to an old rock station

AC/DC- been the best lifting music for 20 years
