What kind of cardio do most of you guys do?

There actually is an absolute best cardio exercise. It elevates heart rate and burns fat better than anything else.

It's called lifting weights.

I run 3 - 4 times a week for 4 to 6 miles a session an a treadmill 1st thing in the AM.

I try to keep it close to 20 miles a week, so if I only do 4 miles on Monday, I have to make it up later in the week.

I keep my heart rate at 150 - 160, the upper range for my age according to my HR monitors book.

This is the best weight loss that I have found for me. About 6 weeks ago I got my BF measured at 10%, and I have slimmed down a little more since then. A few years ago I was a fat ass, I couldn't fit into my 38" waist pants. I started lifting and watching my diet and lost weight, but I was still a fat guy, just with some extra muscle.

When I started running is when the weight melted off.

Plus, even though I eat clean now I would rather eat that extra 500 cals and burn it off on the treadmill then go hungry.

The bad thing is running related injuries and the fact that I have to ease up on heavy leg exercises otherwise it hurts my running. I need to stop that because my calves are starting to suffer compared to the rest of me. But I do it for fitness, I will never have the drive it takes to become a competitive bodybuilder so small calves aren’t that big a deal. .

When I really need to burn a few extra calories I add the threadmill at a moderate pace, I to would rather do a little more work rather than feel starved.

i use my treadmill in the basement first thing waking up after applyin my yohimburn and md6...i stay on for 40minutes monday thru friday weekends off...the first 20minutes i'll do interval training for 3 minute intervals power-walking(3.9mph) and jogging(5.6mph)..then the rest of the 20 minutes i power-walk at 4.0mph...i also use liquidex .5mg eod...i went from 219 to 189lbs currently since august...tryin to achieve a more fitness looking physique and kinda sacrificing the mass...works pretty well..oh yeah i take glutamine after the cardio session then wait 45minutes-1hr till my first meal(usually a protein shake with lil simple carbs)..then another 20minutes after i'll start cookin a breast..peace:)

to seth:

ive been in the same boat from reading your replies to this guy...i was wearin 38x30 jeans with a hangover...i was disgusting but i thought i was cool cuz i was so fuckin strong...yet i pulled no chicks..lol...now i fit in 33x30 express jeans and can fit in better lookin stylish clothes..shit im still a college student and seein the hot chicks at the bars motivated me..i could still hold my own when i walk into a room..i dont think i'll ever be considered "tiny" unless i were really standing next to some big bulked up dude...anyways..yeah the fitness look is for me too..later

If you're a conditioned runner, it's doubtful you'll burn 500 calories running 4 miles. And that's a lot of running.

20 minutes of "pump style" weight lifting with short rest in-between sets will burn a lot more calories than 20 minutes of jogging.

When I ride a bike, I do it outside and go someplace. I love it. A stationary bike is a collosal bore, not to mention, a waste of time.

I lift 3 days a week also.

You can't lift hard every day with out over training.

Plus I find that with my eating habits that if I don't do the running then I can't even maintain my current weight, much less lose anymore.

When I got down to wearing 32" pants, my inseam had risen from 30" to 32" because now I can wear my pants where they were supposed to be worn, not pushed down by a big gut.

I just started doing a 4 mile jog upon awakening in a hilly sort of backroad setting. It's nice because you actually have to look where you're stepping.

I've also been doing a big(!) set of stairs in downtown Albany. I just go up and down until I'm exhausted. This only takes about 25 minutes +/- so there's not much time to get bored. Pretty effective at getting those lungs expanded and heart pumpin' though.

Intense wind sprints and interval boxing are what works for me. I tryed to run a lot and was up to 5 miles EOD but it stropped too much muscle for the effort. I can do sprints and still gain muscle and strength and boxing help out on flexability and cardio....
