What is the proper technique for Incline Bench Press

I have been doing the 4x6 routine for like six weeks and showing some small results already, plus the protein shakes before and after each workout. I am 5'11 168lbs trying to get to 175lbs and all muscle no body fat :)

Anyway's I am a little confused in the proper technique for my incline bench press, sometimes I let the bar go slowly down to my neck area, and other times I have it go down to the bottom of my chest just above the stomach. Which is the correct way of doing it to get the best results of a filled out chest or bigger pec's ?

never press anything to your neck if you enjoy having pain-free shoulders.

Press to the chest, wherever you feel strongest and keep your elbows in as if you're doing the flat. Its easier to overstretch the shoulder capsule doing inclines if you do them wrong.

Bring it to where it feels natural. For me, it's higher up than where I bring the bar on flat bench but certainly nowhere near neck level.

Don't aim for a particular spot; just let the bar come down to where it feels best. You won't gain an ounce of extra muscle by trying to idealize bar placement.

i do em to my neck...that's where the old-timers like larry scott did em...good enough for them,,good enough for me..

straight line. `bows wide. to your clavicles. but in all honesty, you'll get better developement from db's.

It is not really safe to press to your neck btw.
