What is the best martial art to take strictly too

Kane Fan said:
yah but if you dont' offer sparring (with more then light contact) then the things you are learning may fail you when the hits start coming in
it's a problem a lot of straight grapplers have when they try a mixed match
that's why I like sportsystems

When did I say anything about not offering Sparring ? Now , I honestly think that sparring every damned Class is a bit rediculous as well , but no , you ned to learn to FEEL IMPACT , and with proper Gear its perfectly harmless ! Crap , now you can pad yourself head to toe in Nerfware and be fine ! Its how San Shou Rules matches ae Trained for up to the day of the match !

Honestly , most "Sportsystems Schools" pretty much mean BJJ , and most pure BJJ guys get all wrecked and Butt Hurt when you hit them .

also, you're forgetting a style djimbe that has alot of bear in it and is a good internal style. Pakua CHANG, it is very powerful and has alotof grappling too.

I not only DIDNT forget Baguazhang , I actually listed a Teacher where the guy could go LEARN it !

The above guy is a TAD goofy with the Cultural stuff , you know the white guy that tries a LIL too hard to be Asian , but if you can stomach that he IS technically pretty damned good , and DOES offer Sparring . Tell him youre interested in Internal MA for fighting , specifically Xingyiquan (AKA Hsing I Chuan) and Baguazhang (AKA Pa Kua Chang) Theyre both listed HERE :

Wassup kane!!THERE is a catch to the training of these styles peeps don't realize is the hardcore training that comes with it. The old way was very brutal in iron conditioning and peeps of today can't take it so ma turned into a franchise with no power.

thats not True in all cases . But unfortunately it is in all too many .

judo is sport based and randori, our sparring is normally about 50% of class time

randori is a bit different then how some other ma's 'spar'

Any real martial art is the best. It's wrong to say that one style is better than another when it's the practitioner that makes the difference. Find one that works for you and embrace it. There is no such thing as a an unbeatable techinque or method. All you need is a good teacher who loves the art more than winning tournaments, money, or ensuring all of his students are black belts.

From a history stand point all students were given a white belt. As time went on the sweat, blood, dirt, puss, etc changed the color of the belt. After a long time it would build up and become black.

I take pride in watching mine change color. My girlfriend though doesn't like the way that it smells. :)

NEVER WASH THE BELT!!!!

i like how in most styles your belt gets darker as you progress.. ie you are getting soiled with knowledge and experience.

i also like how in some styles your belt gets lighter after you attain black belt .. ie you are shedding your pure physical knowledge

we don't even have belts
the instructor tells us what belt we are but we dont actually have the belt
I don't really need a belt unless I go to a tournament or something

I started to defend myself against getting jumped at school and on the way home from school.

Got into the sporting side, but only in a limited way, preferred to focus on hurting people outside of the control of the gym.

Im not a bully, never have been, but being able to crush them was all it ever was for me, martial arts gave me the know how. mixing up various styles is good for getting a bigger picture. I wont train in anything that isnt wise enough to use to save my life.
