HT - You have NO clue - the vagina IS self-cleaning..... The vagina and the eye are self-cleaning organs.

Here: http://www.teenwire.com/infocus/2000/if-20000421p067.php

GA - the vagina regularly has discharge - usually clear but can look like egg whites when ovulating. Shouldn't have a stinky smell and the vagina does have it's own PH level. Douching can disrupt the vagina's PH level which CAN lead to infections & the inability of the vagina to clean itself. A slight odor or smell is one thing and varies by woman but again, should not "stink." And the odor can become stronger when ovulating or during her period.

It's been found that it can help women to eat 1 yogurt daily to assist with "friendly bacteria" in her pookie. A bad smell comes about with infection or a disruption of the vagina's PH level - there is a certain amount of good bacteria necessary for vaginal health.

GA - I would suggest she see her GYN for a full checkup to rule out infection, STOP douching immediately if she is, add yogurt + cranberry juice to her daily food plan and YOU may need to get looked at too as men can carry infections in their penis without knowing it.....

I know she went for her last check up about 2-3 weeks ago and i know she doesnt douche... It probably doesnt help that she eats like shit and anything "diet" oriented she fails miserably. Tried helping her many times, but she cant except constructive criticism and takes offense to any advice i give. Thats a differenty story though.

Well - I wonder if they tested her for bacterial vaginosis at all. Women can have a low grade version of this, thus causing an "odor." She may need to advise her GYN of an odor & have them check it out with additional tests.

But the question is: Is this particular "smell" normal for her or has it changed?? Have you been with her long enough to notice if this is a "new" thing or if it's always been this way??

It could very well be that this is her natural smell & it just doesn't appeal to you. Nothing wrong with that - but it can hurt your relationship if 1) you can't discuss it with her or 2) she refuses to view the possibility of an issue.

I'd also recommend her adding 1 yogurt a day to her meal plan. What one eats can affect one *down there.* And yogurt is proven to help with the *female area.*

I think it may have changed when she went to Yasmin... Not saying it was great before but when i compare to my ex which had no taste at all and she was not on birth control theres a world of difference. I dont think it changed a great deal. I could probably count on my 2 hands how many times we've had oral sex.

I'd say her smell just doesnt appeal to me at all and it definitely hurts our relationship. We have NO oral sex just like we dont have a sex life period( again a different story) and we're in our early 20's which makes it pretty sad. I think if i brought it up to hurt she would take it in the worst of ways just like everything else we talk about.

Like i said about her diet before... it sucks. We dont live together so we eat 2 totally different ways. She has gained 10-15 lbs since we 1st got together ( 2 years ago ) hates it, but too lazy to do anything about it.

Not to be a jerk then, but maybe it's time to rethink your relationship??

Different bc pills and other hormonal bc methods can totally change how a girl tastes/smells/gets wet. If what's she'd on isn't working for her (or you) she has a lot of other options.
