I know the least about supplements and how and when to take them. I would like to ask everyone if they could please take a minute if they could tell me what they use or have used that is good and if they can tell me what to stay away from.

aslo if someone can tell me how much protien i need per day. I am 6' 6" 250, with about (though i havent been tested in awhile) 18-19% bodyfat.

First off i'm only going to help you out because i'm feeling nice today. You should stop being so lazy and just search the boards for your answers-trust me, you will find them.
Man your first concern should be your diet. Your a big man, and i bet most of it isn't muscle (don't matter). So if your trying to put on some mass you should try and consume 300 of more grams of protein a day. Also you should eat like a mofo, but make sure your eating clean carbs so you don't get too fat! You should be trying to aim for 4000-4500 calories a day. As far as supplements go, you will need to invest in some protein powder to make sure your getting your daily needs to grow and maybe some creatine to increase your strength. Thats it for now, just keep searching the boards and you will get your answers!!! Good luck bro!!!
 
I will search the board more, but to be honest sometimes it goes over my head. I find that people here are really willing to tell me in a way i can understand if i ask it in this way, plus i dont come to my own uneducated conclusions. But thanks for you help. I really need it.
 
this is an anabolic discussion board and try and do a little more homework yourself bro. there is a search button and there is loads of shit on supplements all over the net.

is a great site for keeping track of what you're eating each day and how much protien/carbs/fat you're taking in w/ a lovely colorful pie chart which makes it just too easy.....

you need at least 250g -300g of protien per day....

get your self a good multivitamin, glutamine, protien

PMSLunatic - a side note to you,there are plenty of other ways to search other than this board. sooooo NEWBIE, maybe u and him should understand there is a supplement board for posts like this where better responses will be given. this is an anabolic discussion board so i did give good advise,to search in the right places besides taking this board space up. thanks for making me more right. P.S. again,if the search function isnt working,look up supplement ?'s in that forum,?'s regarding AS should be posted here. and if it is regarding dieting there is a board for that as well. if it was regarding AS i most likely could give him a knowledgable response. well i am right so bye NEWBIE
 
LOL yea that's right I"m a newbie here......and I don't get bent out of shape in my boards when new members post in the wrong forums when they are learning their way around.....

ok listen up pal im gonna be nice too here goes

1.diet
2.training
3.rest
4.supplementation (protein/creatine)

when you have those down come back with questions like how much test will turn into estrogen leading to fat gain, then you can ask how much gear you will need to spare muscle mass when you go into a caloric deficet to burn off that fat.. the more you know your body the better off in this game you will be.
 
2 grams of protein per pound of LEAN bodymass baby!

I mostly use BL gear. I am 6'5 and weigh 325 @ 11% BF. Since you're taller and wanting to put on muscle mass, you don't necessarily need to go heavy on the weights. I could write a book on this but remember that strength doesn't always equal size.

First Id like to say, there is no need in treating this bro in the maner that the one did? Why say all that crap in that way you could easily have informed him of what he needed to know and maybe as a side not say by the way you can also find a ton of info on the web on other sites as well blah blah blah... Gezzz I put up with so many dick heads working in the jails and it never amazes me to see this type of post blasting someone who wants to be informed... Hats off to ya bro for wanting the info before jumping into things that you maybe havent a clue about...

I know Goliath and PMS and know their info is good stuff and even daddyx has one thing I would suggest that is learn as much as you can, that being in my words... I for one like seeing new info posted and responded to so the old post dont always let us know what the new thing is so just searching for old post info isnt the only thing this bro could do and he is doing the other thing I would recommend and thats ask!! Heck it benefits us all to let everyone know what they have recently found out or trying etc... Enough about this...

Bro as supplements go I personally believe that food is your first and for most supplement that MOST of us tend to forget about and run through the drive thru's of MacD's etc and instead of getting the side salad or grilled chicken we get the double quarter pounder with Cheese and the diet drink hehe no no this is not from experience... So a clean or cleaner diet with ample protein is needed... I love to supplement with fish oil fats in gel caps, fat is essiential period for proper organ function and life however I do tend to keep my saturated fats as low as possible... I take Vit C and E as well making sure I stick to respectable brands... I use meal replacement powders when Im working on my 12 1/2 hour shifts (just got off a 14 1/2 hour shift as of today) as well as my grilled, broiled, baked chicken or tuna salad... I like taking Designer protein through out as often as I can so I get the protein and not all the calories I may get in a meal replacement especially after heavy lifting and at night before bed on stressed days... One supplement I tend to take all year around and actually have noticed great improvements in many areas is with Glutamine I take up to 20g a day sometimes less but I do love the amino that is the most abundant free form amino in the muscle, that should tell ya something...

creatine, glutamine en cla. Those things work for me.
Ohh almost forgotten i use proteines.. but i think everybody does.

When i'm on the juice i use some zinc...
 
some people need to stop being a dick and help someone out once in a while. anyway.....are you wanting to know about supplements or gear??? how long have you been working out? this is what i would do. start in on creatine/glutamine/and a good multi-vitamin.
1-1.5 grams of protein/lb of lean body mass. so figure out, w/the % of body fat and how much you weigh, around how much lean body mass you have. i cant stress how important it is to get your protein. get it from solid foods if you can too. (chicken,lean beef..etc.) for a protien drink i recommend optimum 100% whey double rich chocolate flavor. ive tasted a lot of nasty shit and this i can actually take my time drinking.
train hard and get the bf% down. your a big guy already...you could be a big mofo if you go at this right. i mean BIG! i wish i had your frame.
1-2 gallons of water a day...i know it sounds like a lot but thats what you need and it will speed up your matabolism. just carry around a bottle and drink and drink and fill it up and fill it up...and so on.
get all this under way and hit the weights HARD! the more intense your workout the better and quicker your gains come. thats my 2cents worth. good luck bro!

i would like to thank everyone for helping me out and i know that this is some important info to help me reach my goals. I have been doing alot of searching around the board to educated myself also, but thanks again for your patience with me.

I am still open to anyone elses oppinons so please leave them here.

i went out last night and got me some protein and creatine. I will go and pick up some more stuff that was suggested tonight.
