On a date and you don't remember his name? Dam, I thought I was bad.

If I met someone and can't remember, I admit it. "I know we met, but I am very bad at remembering names. I am....." The Japanese hat this as they are trained to remember EVERYONE.

On a Date? Hmm, give him some nickname and then kind of ask what his full name is.

Ask him if he has a second name. If he says yes then ask him which does he prefer to be called by his first name or second name and he will inevitably tell you his name again.

If he does not have a second name then you are stuffed lol.

nick something that has her name on it, read it and put it back

I asked that first time we meet think I would remember it was unusual name but I forgot

Next time you meet up hand him your phone and ask him to put his name in, tell him you want to make sure its spelled properly.
