What do you all think about ancient mythology?

The Titans, Olympians Zeus, Apollo, Ra etc etc. what are all these stories/legends all about, and why are there so many similarities with the legends through out every ancient culture? What do they mean? Represent?

2,000 years from now, will they look back upon our Christianity, Judaism, Islam, etc... as mythologies also?

All the ancient cultures put their own spin and interpretation upon the same shared event ...contact with extraterrestrial entities that they viewed as deities.

i think they derive from the same factors, that in through visions/deams/drugs men thought there were spirits of power and they resembled men. They tied these spirits to things in nature they could not control or define. they also tied to what men considered important characteristics, strength, virility, beauty.

different level of life

i posted this over at brotha bills bored (yall should check out out for some good discussions like this)

"all i know is is that when we die we will appear back to our true forms and our long life will seem like only a split second, - a split second that you have spent playing a game. you will talk about it with your friends, laugh, and go back into the game. this time on the next level, with a completely different setting and abilities, but the general idea of the game is still there."

i think that the stories and ideas of greek mythology were just from a different "level" of being that somehow got mixed up via stories or stored in the minds of the people who opted to participate in this part of existance
