What could be causing these radical abdominal cramps I'm getting?

I'm getting major abdominal craming if I do any sort of Ab work. I have never had this problem before until I started up this Competition diet that I am now in the second month of. My nutritionalist says the leaner you get the more that it can become an issue. I'm only at 9.1 from 14% so far. I'm getting plenty of water and magnesium and potasium. I havn't even started my winny/clen/t3 yet. It's only my abs and no other bodyparts are cramping. Anyone experieance this on dieting?
 
i notice that i cramp easier the leaner i get. i just have to take extra time stretching.
 
I know what you are talking about starskulker. I get them sometimes, so bad it feels like my abs turn completely upside down. I got them so bad once that I dropped to the gym floor, stuck in a painful twisted position. I looked like a special needs person that got kicked in the nuts. I could not move and people just walked by me with a WTF look on their face. It seems like I get them during or soon after ab work, even with alot of stretching. This has happened when bulking or dieting. I have no idea how to remedy this.

It's crazy, is yours like each individual ab starts firing randomly? It's a wierd feeling! I get it pretty bad when I haven't worked abs in a while. I've always had abs, so I don't always have to work them. Just take it easy the first couple workouts, and stretch really well. Potassium supplements, and bananas help lots.

Yes. It's never all of them or even a few at a time but usually just one of them at a time. An upper right one or the middle left. I swear my girl said it looked like I had an alien "Chestbuster" trying to get out.
 
Take some Midol and clean out the sand.
 
wate until your on week 5 of winny your gonna be having fun with muscles cramps all over your body in every muscle u can think of its happend to me my abs hav seaized same with my jaw its scary u shud probly upp potassium in your diet ALOT and drinkk water like its your job that helped me
 
I read somewhere that combining 1. Potassium with 2. Calcium & Magnesium may cause or contribute to such cramping. You mentioned that you take both potassium and magnesium. Perhaps elimiate the magnesium? I'm not entirely sure about this though.

I've been having the same problem. Just today I tried crunches and the cramping started soon after each set. I used to do crunches much more frequently without issues, so I'm not sure what's happening here.
