It's also impossible to look cool when drinking from a straw, but that's neither here nor there...

True, but I'm 40 years old, so it's virtually impossible to look cool regardless! I just look like my dad now! Did I just say that out loud? Damn!

1992 Porsche 944.
1994 Nissan Sentra
1979 Dodge Pickup.

buying this week.

Either a Toyota Rav4 or a Huyandai Santa Fe...as soon as my wife makes up her pretty lil ol mind.

Make sure you at least test drive an Escape. I sold them...you'll thank me. At the very least look it up. The car rides like a freakin sports car. Fast as hell and a hell of a lot better than a Rav4.

Cars I owned:
2000 Toyota Celica
1989 Honda Prelude (my bumper car)
1966 Mustang Coupe
1968 Mustang GT Convertible in project (68 GT350 Clone!)

Now the stangs are both sold but I'm back in the market...

Family Man

1992 Caprice Classic (wish it was an Impy like yours Project)
1997 GMC Suburban

I'm 40 in couple of years I'll probably hit the crisis and trade the Caprice in for a Corvette

96 Dodge Ram Pick Up
Bought in 98, pay for it next june, 1 year early.

From there depending on the economic climate, either keep it or get a Chevy 4x4.

No more Dodge or Ford for milhouse.

79' Mustang (Indy Pace car w/ many mods)
94' Mustang GT Convertible (Green w/ tan top and many mods)
97' Mitsubishi Mirage
02' F150 4x4 Super Crew

I'm strongly looking into either a 02' Ford Lightning or a 02' Saleen Mustang S281.

An overpriced, overpowered, gas guzzling Mazda RX-7 twin turbo. Time to sell that and get a Neon or something. I hate driving. It's so fucking gay (no offense).

New thread time. What makes driving gay?

Don't post too often yet. Just read mostly, but here's what I own.
(with Borla catback for some sound :D, along with a few other mods)

I'm a 25 yr old, unmarried, homeowner with a live in girlfriend, so I still can enjoy my rides.1999 Pontiac Trans Am

Yeah it rocked and I drove it like a madman in my younger (stupider) days. But since I got into biking, I've lost my appeal for going fast in a car. I mean hell, people highbeam my slow ass to get out of the way now, LOL. I always do the speed limit or slightly below. Sad ... but true.

Highly modded '94 Z-28 The engine is bad as fuck, but the rest of the car is shit. Everything's falling apart. Cheapass GM pricks. Gonna sell this bucket and buy what freshr1 has in his avatar:D :D

doesn't anyone drive shit? everyone has $25k cars.

my first car was a 1977 buick lesabre. $950, lasted one year
second was an 88 ford taurus
third was a grand am, gasket blew, now its worthless

now i drive a 99 ford ranger splash :). it should last me 10 years.

I finally traded the Benz, bought a Infiniti....it's o.k, but a Japanese product so I figure I can't go wrong. I also have a cheap lease payment.

First car was a shitty '87 Ford Escort (2 doors.. so it was a sports model bitch!)

Since then I've moved up to crappy '91 Jetta (once again, the sports model).

My dream car/vehicle is a sooped up, boxy, old Astro Van.

I'm easy to please.

oh shit - my stepmom had one of those. it was baby blue and had zero power whatsoever. the exhaust leaked into the cabin and the cooling system was busted. so in the summer the heat would have to blast if you wanted to drive, and it couldn't go up hills, and it couldn't make it to 60mph - so you had to tak eall back roads.
but it was free and we couldn't afford anything else.
hated that thing.

my dad had a 73 chevy impala (I think V8 350) that was in so many accidents that finally had a roll cage and race seats with 5 point seat belts put in it. I was so embarassed in that piece of shit.
you could blow a gallon of gas just by flooring it from a stoplight.
you could also drive through a building and not even notice it.

at some point while I was in high school he gave away the cars for a tax break and I never leared to drive until I was like 22 or something.

now I drive a sweedish car. safe.

Let me clarify...

The truck is in the back yard and is used as a utility. Bull drives the Lincoln and I drive the Miata. Those of you that go back as far as this summer may remember that I bought the Miata for Bull for his birthday.

He doesn't like to drive it now that it is too cold to take the top off.

i had the opposite. it got 6 mpg (if i had spent 3k on a car with better gas mileage instead of 1k on a car with 6mpg i would have ended up spending the same amount over the long run and gotten a nicer car), and was like a 5.7L V8. it was strong, but gas was $100 a month.

why were you poor, btw?

my mom was young when I was born (23) and getting her masters in grad school - in english - and then it took her many years to start making anything - even then for a long time it was less than $20K and a single mom.
my parents divorced when I was 3 and apparently my dad didn't pay that much support that he was supposed to. and he was in grad school for many years.
students don't make money I guess.

anyway, that's neither here nor there - it all worked out in the end.

1999 Chevrolet ZR2 Black
1971 Camaro RS (Drag Car)
1991 Volks Jetta Wolfsburg (my ex-car)

The Camaro is the drag car.. the Jetta is what I used to drive... and the Truck is what I terrorize the urban community with now.

That is so true. I never go over the speedlimit now. People without bikes never know what they are missing as far as speed, power and fun. I hate being stuck in a cage.

Nordstrom, the reason I have my car ($29K actually) is this -
I'm a project engineer and have worked with my company for nearly 7 years now. Plus, I am not leasing, so my payments aren't small along with my mortgage, so I'm not exactly rich yet! I'm also 25 soon to be 26. My parents were awesome and although neither had an applicable degree, they both worked their asses off, lived reasonably (wearing clothes that were on their budget, not always trendy names), drove simple cars that lasted a long time, and basically gave the shirts off their back to me and my two sisters to get us through college. Now that all of us are working, we're all doing great and they no longer have to take care of us as we pay our own bills now. We also help them out if they need it, but they don't! My parents have a 4 BR, 2 story with full basement, 2 car garage, about 1600 sq ft home that they had built 4 years ago! Amazing how much money some people can save.

state farm loves me as i have 3 vehicles:

'95 mercury grand marquis

'73 ford ranchero

'66 mustng

the merc is the best road trip car i have ever owned! it makes the 750 mile dash to my broly's house in n.e tennessee in one long haul. it's white, looks like a cop car and scares the HELL outta people when i flash my hi beams at them, invisible to police.

the ranchero is a combination car and truck, like chevy's el camino, but ford was first by 2 years on GM. this is my third ranchero, as close as i get to owning a truck.

the mustang, the first, the origional, the best pony car around, attacts envious stares from everyone! never could afford one in college, still can't afford it now, just said foik it , buy it anyway. found it in little rock and drove it home.

this thread has me sad!! I drive nothing right now!! But I do know what my dream cars are...
El Camino
57 Chevy, like my step-dad had
a new Explorer
and finally an Audi, any kind will do!!

2000 black Silverado
1987 blue Custom softail all tricked out

Hmm, one more reason for me to hang out here more than on my car boards, I've got one of the 3 fastest cars here, whereas there I'm in the slow half :)

87 Grand National. It's not one of them pristine examples, it's one of them fast ones.
And my beater is a 93 SHO. I'm ecstatic that my beater has any balls at all. It's also a great source of amusement making "show" jokes (such as my referring to it as "the Whole F'n SHO(w)". Ok, I don't really, that'd be stupid).

I was fully planning on buying a new TA or Formula here in a couple years when I turned 25, but NOOOOO..... GM SUCKS!!! YOU KILLED THE F-BODY! YOU BASTARDS!
