What book(s) are you currently reading?

Besides all of my California bar review books, I'm reading "Emotional Intelligence"

C

jean-paul sartre's "being and nothingness - a phenomenological essay on ontology"..

though i'm only like 20 pages into it because i didn't have any time to read this weekend, and as i've just learned, the damn book is too deep to try to read here at work with all these fucking distractions...

Right now:

Faster: The Acceleration of Just about Everything by James Glieck

Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Gold Braid by Douglas Hoffstadder

and I just started reading the Left Behind series.

I dont read but I was flipping through channels today and I saw an episode of "Reading Rainbow" where that black dude was at Oakland A's training camp with Mark Mcgwire.

I think he was reviewing a book called " Bob the Dinosaur" or some shit....

Not sure, watching him read his book made me pretty horny so I had to go toss off...

I lost my concentration.

smalls - I found that so boring I couldn't get past the 5th page or so. sooo boring. painful.

Code, I have GEB in my queue, but not quite there yet - many distractions yet.

the current 2 that I'm reading (I usually read 4 at a time or so, but a recent move threw that off, lost them in boxes somewhere) are:

The Mind within the Net by Manfred Spitzer

and

Fundamentals of Neural Networks by Laurene V. Fausett

also reading a C++ book, but I'm not sure that counts.

and I just recently finished All Tomorrow's Parties by Gibson

I have about 100 on my "to read" list and another 200+ on my wish list at amazon.

I'm reading the mod board right now... lol ...

Oh man, that's gotta sting someone, whoever it is. ;)

I read Superfudge in grade school and I think that the closest I have come to reading a book since then was Cliff's Notes on some Chaucer stuff in college.

Unless you count the Physicians Desk Reference.. Then I am a fucking genious.

Recently I finished Band of Brothers, Flags of Our Fathers, and Marine Sniper. Any suggestions on some military, preferably WW2 and Vietnam books are welcomed.

Mario Puzo never fails to entertain me. His books are great.

The Fourth Hand by John somebody, I forget who. This is for my book club. Yes I am in a book club.

The Prince by Machiavelli

American Dreams: Lost and Found by Studs Terkel--has an interview with Arnold in it.

"The Gangs of New York" by Herbert Asbury.

Martin Scorcese is making it into a movie with Leonardo DiWhatshizface and I want to be that pretentious asshole who tells everyone the book was better.

Just started it. It's about the Irish organized crime groups in New York in the 19th century before they all morphed into the Democratic Party.

Simulacra and Simulation - Boullard
How then Shall we live - Francis Schafer
Kalam's Cosmological Argument - William Lane Craig
Green Eggs and Ham - Seuss

I'm reading Elle, Cosmo and Vogue....

no, actually, I'm reading some German book about health and fitness a friend loaned me. So I can read about stuff I already know from reading stuff on here...

And re-reading my thesis, for the umpteenth time, looking for typos and grammar errors that might piss off the examiners....

Daymun!

The intellectual gauntlet has been thrown to the floor!

SILENT JOE by T. Jefferson Parker. An excellent thriller. It's about a man who sees his adopted father killed in front of him, and he seeks revenge.

Amazon.com reminded me to pick up a copy of the DVD for Band of Brothers next week. The series reminded me of Rex who porbably has about 3 weeks left at Parris.

:shoot:

The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, Charlie Brown. How To Get Laid Everytime.

I just finished a book called Fast Food Nation It discussed the evils of the fast food industry. I was reading it for my political life class. Very interesting read at times.

The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice.

Would you like me to come and bite you on the neck me lady? What is this fascination that women have with vampires? My ex got off on that stuff. She actually wanted me to dress as a vampire. I can't get into that weird role playing shit.

I've never liked vampires. There's just something about them. Creepier to me than any of the slasher films or other monster stuff.
