What are steel cut oats?

What are steel cut oats? Are they the same as oatmea?

AS "UNPROCESSED" as oatmeal can be.......usually found in health food stores........

My local grocery stores sell them, definitely good stuff, just take a while to prepare. The brand name I (and a lot of other people buy) is "McCann's Irish Steel Cut".

yep and they are the same quality as regular oatmeal AS LONG AS IT ISNT INSTANT OATMEAL!

So these things are called just that, steel cut oats?

And according to the last post, they are the same as say quaker oats, as long as they are not the instant ones ?
