what am i doin to my body?

You hear the ground rule a gram of protein per pound of muscle....

Well if you follow that, I prolly get about half of the protein Im supposed to.

So what does that do to my body when i work out 5, 6 times a week? what are my muscles and my body doin with not enough protein?

I would think u are going to lose muscle bud. and at 1g/lb you are probably only going to maintain.
 
If not enough calories are supplied to your body (starvation); to sustain it self it, will start using it self to survive, in this case your muscle will be the first to go, fallowed by fat

The whole process is much more complex then this, since it depends on a lot of factors
